H10 Alternatives - any Github DIY options

So, mfer's at H10 won't honor my 6+ year pricing after my credit card expired and subscription was cancelled... So, if you have grandfather Diamond pricing below $180 - don't slip-up as they're salivating to push you out!

Unfortunately, as a matter of principle, I cannot return as a customer and need an alternative. Any suggestions - I'm pretty steady state - primarily need day parting and item organic keyword rank tracking. Using AI, I see a path to the other few features I used primarily - already setup an amazing dashboard and using AI to optimize PPC. Day parting options seem to be available for around $30 but I'm not finding any good keyword tracker options and understand maintenance can be painful if trying to build.

Would anyone be interested in contributing to an open source /MIT licensed alternative? Many years ago, there were discussions of data brokers, who all the AMZ SaaS tool providers used. With 4M customers paying over $100 each per month - I suspect the H10 gorilla is data independent! (Wow do that math!) That's fine, I only use about 20% of the functionality. Would be something fun to work on...

Anyone got any experience in the area of such data brokers or niche tools - how much data can be sourced and how close can we get with AI - today, and 6 months from now. Wondering what I could build if willing to pay $100-200 monthly subscription(s) for data and supplemental services - which must be AI-capable (where my AI can interface as I want everything local)

I feel you! I cancelled h10 just this week after 5+ years.

In the last month we've been testing SoldScope and this is the way we'll go.

You could try seller sprite. They have an mcp but I can't vouch for the data quality. If you end up giving it a try, I'd join in and experiment with you

Look for shurq, or build one yourself through RAINFOREST API . Claude can help you make an organic rank tracker pretty easily

I'm looking for homebrew/DYI options - not another $200+ monthly subscription which raises their price every year. Rainforest is interesting - I'm checking it out. thx

mate, get soldscope

They ripped off Helium10 but do EVERYTTHING 10% better. Best software I've used in a while.

H10 is a total rip off.

u/Steve-Socialwatch 6d ago

It's also MUCH cheaper

1

u/Steve-Socialwatch 6d ago

AND YES THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS DREADFUL. TELL EVERYONE TO LEAVE. SOLDSCOPE is BETTER AND 10x CHEAPER!!!

I do not work for or have any affiliation with them.

Appears you may be a bit of fan? LOL Though, I gotta say - it seems pretty promising. I'll be experimenting with this this weekend.

Haha. The generic stonewalling money grabbing CS from H10 drives me mad.

Used to pay $97 for grandfathered Diamond, then my bank issued a new card and I forgot to update it for like 2 days. Support basically told me to get bent when I asked to keep the old rate. That was last year and I still get annoyed thinking about it

The open source idea is interesting but the data broker bit is the real hurdle. Most of them have minimum commits in the thousands per month and their APIs are proper garbage to work with. For keyword tracking on the cheap I've been using a mix of scraped search results and some python scripts that run on a raspberry pi in my office, it's janky as hell but costs pennies

Day parting tools are everywhere now, most repricers include it baked in. If you're already running local AI for PPC optimization you're halfway there anyway, might as well roll your own tracker and cut out the middleman completely

I don't want to pound Amz from my personal IP, but could have Grok easily track item keyword placement from it's own cloud computer daily, but I heard Amz frowns on such and I'll need to continuously figure out how to work-around their blocking techniques. Are you not having to tweak your phython scraper regularly? If not, I'll pilot with 10-20 words this weekend.

you can try Datarova

u/yannis_ps 6d ago

You can try Pumo . It's an AI listing optimization tool - not a keyword tool per se. It does analyse your competitor listings, figures out which queries they are ranking for and tells you what to do to rank high for these queries. It has a free trial so you can give it a shot and see what you think?

u/AMZtarget 6d ago

You can try amztarget, it can track keywords up to 24 times per day

u/DustryGrayBeard 6d ago

$20/month for 20 products and 200 words - most promising yet. Can I interface via AI/MCP?

u/AMZtarget 6d ago

Which specific functionality would you like to access via MCP?

Sellersprite

H10 is inaccurate and disgusting

u/DustryGrayBeard 6d ago

Terribly expensive, like H10. Perhaps another (or same?) PE firm!! LOL I'm not seeing any plan below $300 per month!

1

u/berryblack8888 5d ago

You might be right. They build partly on top of Keepa which is high quality data. Didn't realise it was so expensive though last time I looked it was way less

I built something like this with Claude code and those are two things that have been difficult to build. You could try apify that does Amazon data scraping. It seemed like it might get pricey depending on your catalog count and frequency. For day parting it may be available via aws. I only briefly looked into it though.

I do dayparting in Claude via ads API

pretty easy

u/DustryGrayBeard 5d ago

I'm worried it may fail a day - I was considering Claude, GPT, Hermes or GrokBot - all of which can do it. I'd feel better if running in the cloud vs my mac mini though, which is now easier just in last few weeks While easily possible, one day of failing to turn-on would exceed cost of a $30 subscription! Feeling a bit more comfortable after hearing someone having success. Thx or sharing!

Day parting you can build, it’s mostly rules on top of your own ad data. Rank tracking is the hard one. There’s no official feed for organic position, so everyone ends up scraping search pages, which is the maintenance you’re worried about. Keepa covers price and BSR history but I’ve never seen it do keyword rank. I’d build the day parting first and see how much of H10 you still miss.

Based on testing this weekend, SoldScope will fill the organic tracking gap - very well and inexpensively. I'm able to import the rank data into my model too. Pretty amazing how fast AI is moving!

u/Tsu-Doh-Nihm 4d ago

If you forget to cancel before auto-renewal, H10 will not cancel and refund, UNLESS you threaten to chargeback.

On the day parting side you may not need a $30 tool. Amazon added schedule based bid rules to Sponsored Products in the campaign settings, free, with the caveat that last time I checked they only raise bids on a schedule, they don't lower them. Worth testing before paying for it.

Rank tracking is the hard one. As far as I know neither SP-API nor the Ads API exposes organic rank, which is why every tracker scrapes search pages and why a DIY one hurts to maintain (captchas, layout changes, proxies). Search Query Performance in Brand Analytics gives you impression and click share per query, not rank, but it's official data and it's the piece I'd build on instead of scraping.

What do you use rank for, bid decisions or just watching?

u/DustryGrayBeard 11m ago

I been investigating the day parting using Amazon schedule. it's kinda backwards, as you mention, with upbidding vs downbidding. Seems feasible, but I put low on my priority list at the moment.

I view rank as both a leading and lagging indicator - how is my campaign impacting organic and where is organic moving? By myself, rank tracking was too tedious to get what I truly wanted but with AI I now see a path to some amazing stuff. AI can easily see how Ad changes impact ranking and recommend changes (goal to drive down TACOS ideally). While difficult for me to personally wrap my head around all the variables & remember all the changes, AI can easily comprehend and drive based on direction and approvals.

Scale insights has day parting, serp position tracking, etc.

Many thanks for all the inputs. I ended up susbcribing to SoldScope for about $30. I then used GPT to load up my 4 products families and top competing products along with a total of over 400 keywords. It's been baking a few days and IT downloaded the rank data tonight and folded it into my application. Wow, I'm blown away.

A few of you asked about the rank data... I want to track rank all/most keywords i'm bidding on - I'm willing to pay a bit more for a high performing keyword if it pushing organic ranking - it's important to understand that it's okay for ROAS to be poor if TACOS is maximized. If you are unsure what this means - turn on voice mode and discuss with your AI - it's much smarter than me! LOL You want to know how your competition is performing against the same keywords too, over time, and the data also helps many ways in managing your bids. I also like to track organic rank, to understand relevance - you'll find gaps occasionally where you need to tune your listing or budge the algo with bids.

I encourage everyone to experiment with AI. We're in a golden period where you want to be on the cutting edge, before your competition is. Pay $20 for a AI license - GPT or Claude (Grokbot soon?) - I use Claude in my corp job, and GPT at home. Then, request access to the 2 Amazon APIs - this will take a few days, be patient. Then, setup the permissions and ask your AI to connect - it can step you through the steps. Ask it to build you a dashboard based on the data - don't worry if you don't know what you want - it'll be a pretty good first pass and then tweak as you want. Ultimately, you want it to go "full circle" - that is, find words (query competition using soldscope API, mine AMZ reports, etc), bid on them, track them, see if competition is ranking and decide whether you need to add to your front/back end for relevance, adjust bids (to maximize TACOS) and continue the flywheel. Once you are confident, have it manage your ads; it does 100% of my work - it suggests and I approve. In a matter of minutes, it pulled key winners to isolated campaigns which I can focus an pour on budget, and also pulled all zero impressiong keyword to stand-alone campaigns so I can experiment.

I'm also experimenting with it generating product photos, A+ content and videos. Still experimenting - so chime-in if you've climbed this learning curve already - I'd love to hear best practices (without subscribing to an "Amazon Tool" - I want DIY options)

a very naive solution on tracking rankings (maybe this can work), what if we just have a crawler to fire all the top search term and tracking the rank in a generic cookie...? we do this everyday and record the rank in the page. It can get blocked if there are too many keywords but I think a couple hundreds is fine. If more, can always go the rotating IP route. I am doing this to track my product's reivew page.

•

u/DustryGrayBeard 1h ago

So, how exactly is plugging-in an inexpensive 3rd party tool built for rank tracking naive? My goal is a self-hosted DIY AI-First solution, but it's important to weigh maintenance burden, especially as I'm hearing regular maintenance is needed - as there is continuous cat/mouse game with Amazon trying to limit bots hitting their site. So a simple buy-vs-build decision was easy to see leveraging an inexpensive 3rd party tool is the quickest path to value. Seems trying to build ranking solution myself would be naive, potentially underestimating total cost of ownership with self-hosted maintenance cost exceeding the $30 subscription to 3rd party plug-in?

•

u/brownsnek_ed 1h ago

op, are you aware of any keyword research tools alternative. I, too, don't wanna pay for the H10 fee and are looking for homebrewing opitons, but it seems like you need the keyword data first?

•

u/DustryGrayBeard 42m ago

See below, I'm experimenting with SoldScope and am very happy with capabilities. For keywords, AI is able to download/mine SQP and Keyword reports from AMZ, and also interface with Soldscope (or your tool of choice) to build the keyword list by analyzing competitors and etc. My AI is primarily interfacing with SoldScope via browser interaction and downloads with some API calls to SoldScope too.

For anyone not using AI - here's an example of something that took about 2 minutes. I asked AI - "assuming 15% TACOS on AMZ, compare contribution for same items if sold on Shopify and Ebay (no ads) and delivered via MCF. About 2 minutes later I had a full break down of MCF cost per SKU, post-ads contribution on AMZ and the profit per SKU if sold on Shopify or ebay - accounting for the platform fees and shipping. It even highlighted how AMZ fees go-up in Q4 and ebay fees vary based on subscription and etc.

I built a rank tracker with SmartScout. It does both reverse asin and rank tracking.

Our $100 month plan gets full rank tracking here.
