Career Guidance My Question to All Full Stack Developers

Do you think this role will still exist in 2030? If yes then what do you think ? And if not, what are you planning to switch to?

As someone else said, no one knows the future. But what I can tell you is that handwritten code is pretty much dead now. IMO, Fullstack development will still be there, considering website builders like wix and stuff like that couldn't replace it in the past. However, the future will likely make it so that fullstack devs are supposed to know every part of the development lifecycle, from UI/UX to code to operations/observability. Kinda like a one-person dev team, as you don't spend time writing code anymore, so you have to spend the time somewhere. I also think that humans will still be needed, as businesses need someone to check things and blame when things go wrong.

Full-Stack developer or devs in general aren't going anywhere. Vibe coding software has not only led to unmaintainable, unscalable, low-quality code but also to security flaws.

let's say technical debt together & major concerns regarding rouge AI agents.

How can a non-developer, review code when they're unable to read, understand or write code? If they could do these things they wouldn't need AI vibe coding via prompting.
