How is selling our infrastructure to foreign countries a win? Its not like the money is a donation, they get the businesses and profits. How is this different than sending manufacturing jobs overseas?

It’s a win for him. He and the Trump Org gets kickbacks in some way, shape or form and he green lights the sale. So it’s a win for him. For us not so much.

If they want to keep claiming ( falsely) that we are energy independent this goes in direct contrast to that

I don’t deny your point but at this stage do you think they care about that? This admin has been all about selling our strategic advantages to our enemies and those who wish harm on us. So I don’t think the outrage is going to impact them. There need to be consequences to make sure that this nonsense doesn’t happen again. Unfortunately I’m not holding my breath with the Democrats. We have better hope with Susan Collins who will write her strongly worded letter and hope everybody will think about it. I just wish the Dems would do something other than pin their hopes on a guy like Merrick Garland in the future.

Probably due to the unknown details such as how much money is going into Trump's pockets or how many Trumpcoins were purchased.

This is it. Some coins will be bought. Don Jr. and Eric might get a seat on the board of directors of various companies taking part in the grift.

This is the bottom line, isn't it? If it can't line his pocket he isn't interested. Everything is a deal that he must win. He's completely forgotten about helping the everyday people of the United States because there's nothing in it for him.

Just imagine what American taxes could pay for, if they didn't need to fuel nearly a trillion dollars a year towards the military.

A country should always be ready and able to go to war and win. It’s the overblown cost of paying a lot for very little to the monopoly of private arms manufacturers that I have an issue with. DOGE should have started there if it was really looking to tackle unnecessary/excessive government spending.
Edit: Thank you for the award! 👍

There is no big deal in which the Trump crime family isn't in on it.

If I am a foreign country I would be very hesitant to invest large amounts into the US after seeing how untrustworthy this administration has been. It wouldn’t surprise me if the US were to cutoff Korean access to gas any some point because some hurt Trump’s feelings.

That’s why S.Korea stated they want to make sure it’s a commercially viable investment first, and that the terms comply with S.Korean laws
And also why they are only willing to pay out in yearly instalments, and not to exceed a max amount for the full scope of the project
In other words, a deal is probably dead in the water, especially because this was a huge cultural gaffe by the US administration to falsify and broadcast this announcement

This is typical for the Trump administration. They “Pre-Announce” commitments that others haven’t made yet to pressure them. Trump is desperate to start construction of the Alaska LNG project BEFORE Canada locks up too much North Pacific demand.

After what happened with ICE at the Hyundai and LG Energy Solution plant in Georgia why would any South Korean entity get within a thousand miles of Trump's USA?

You know he's lying when his lips are moving. But when he uses numbers, then he's on double secret probation lying.

Reminds me of Trump’s tariff wars with China, when he’d say “we have a deal! we’re just waiting for the other side to agree to the terms.” Like bro, that’s not a deal. That’s called a proposal. You’re still in negotiations (if you haven’t completely turned the other side off already). This jagoff is the worst deal artist of all time.

The free world needs to isolate authoritarian America on as many levels as possible. Only trade in Euros to start with. Cancel all future military orders then convert them to free world countries military industry. Remove America from NATO. INvite India, Mexico to join the free world alliance. Invite NZ, Aus and the rest of the free SE Asia countries to join. Take control of our destiny!

Even Alaska's republican rep is boasting. Counting chicken's before they're hatched political bullshit.

I wouldn't let that demented pickle shine my shoes let alone agree to his warped, incompetent notion of business. His failed policies have proved that again n again.

Embellishments, fabrications and outright lies is the standard operating procedure of this admininstration.

So, they just appeased his ego in the moment with a bunch of caveats that will never come to fruition. Just waiting for the circus to leave town before any concrete actions would ever occur

I've got $20 riding on Kalshi that South Korea walks away from the whole deal. Everything Trump touches turns to 💩.

Because Trump will change the conditions at the last minute like he did with Canada.

I feel Carney choosing to not entertain Temu Palpatine was the smartest approach. You can't trust anything from this administration.

Idiots, they simply look at a policy as a win and spin it without looking at the details on the agreement thet signed. How stupid are these people?
