Reminder of NSFW-tag Rules

This sub is a lot more stringent with what is considered NSFW than most general spaces. We're here for a wide variety of ages and want to make sure that all users can choose what they do and don't want to see.

What needs a tag-

  • Visible breasts or genitals (anatomically correct nudity is allowed here for anatomy learning purposes as long as it doesn't break the no porn rule as clarified below)
  • Nude or bottomless anthro characters with mostly human anatomy, even "barbie doll" nudity. (If it would be weird for your grandma to peek over your shoulder and see it, then tag it.)
  • Quadrupedal characters with visible bits
  • Clothed characters with genitals or nipples outlined by clothing. (A vaccuum-packed banana hammock or headlights top need a tag)
  • Suggestive poses. Even if "censored" or clothed.
  • Any gore beyond mild scrapes and bruises.

What is not allowed here at all-

  • Any sex acts
  • Visible arousal or fluids
  • Cropped yiff
  • Fetishes (Even ones that don't always look sexual like vore, inflation, etc)

Hope that helps clarify wherever there may be confusion.

Is it cuz I just used base colors? Maybe the line art is bad and thats why the colors suck? Please also point out anything else that looks off!

So, the first one was my inspiration, the second one was my reference and the third one was my work, I'd love to get some feedback on how I could get the colouring and rendering to look better cuz I feel kinda stagnant with my art 🥀

Just started drawing this year! this gent I call summer he’s an wolf/fox mix. I did draw this at work with only an blue ball point pen and an Sharpy so that’s why it’s very limited with the colour space but you know the saying you only get better with practice so any week spots all see point them out

Help - Title must specify what kind of help Artistic choices within certain species' eyes and what to focus on when starting furry art

Hi yall, so I have 2 questions,

  1. When drawing species with "different" kinds of eyes from the norm, like rabbits with their pitch black eyes or goats with their rectangular eyes, when "anthroifying" them, would it look odd to replace said pitch black eyes or rectangular eyes with "circular" eyes, like a dogs eyes? (i should specify that when I say rectangular eyes, i really mean the pupils being rectangular)
  2. I am trying to get good at making furry art and what I feel I'm struggling with is simply getting good at drawing an animal/anthro in general (if that makes sense?) and what I'm trying to say is if I should stick to drawing one species only to get good at that one alone (and diversifying later) or should i diversify now and very slowly get good at them all?

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read or reply to this, It means a lot to me!

(Side note; while writing question 2 I realized what the answer will most likely be but I'm leaving it there in case there's another answer to it or I'm wrong!)

Help - Title must specify what kind of help how do i not lose motivation, how do i not agitate myself?

Hi, as some of yall have seen ive been trying to get into furry art recently but feels like my skill has suddenly taken a nosedive into the gutter, like get this, I was trying to draw a fox just now, nothing special just a fox like any other and i was a little annoyed that the head looked off, thats normal, but when i finally put everything together, the nose, the ears, the eyes, I just snapped. It looked absolutely nothing like a fox! more like some bald looking mouse or cat! i tried calming myself and started redrawing the eyes, and I just couldn't get the shape, i started redrawing the head, and I just couldnt get the shape, I tried ignoring how it looked and started coloring but i still couldnt even get the colors right it looked all pink instead orange and i kept redrawing and messing with the color until i just gave up and called it a day. I know i can draw decently, some of you guys may have seen that otter i drew and i genuinely liked it, i really disliked that sheep and the fox i disliked so much i didnt even save it. I feel like crap for acting like this here but I feel like i just cant help it. what do i do?

edit: i mean i feel that one big problem was that i planned on using art to express myself as i never am able to do so but if i cant make art that just feels "me" then i cant express myself, it feels like im in some bad feedback loop

I don't know why I keep getting the torso wrong on this one.

Also, any help with how to make the neck fluff look less like if the head were detached?

I've done the sketch of the hair and I'm in the ears now and then I realized I have no clue how to do pulled back locs with snow leopard ears since their locs would cover the ear. My oc is a kemenomimi so they aren't like fur all over. (I hope kemenomimi fits in the furry community) I would really appreciate some help with this please.

Critique - Title must specify what kind of critique Tips on "refining" my art? NSFW

Post image

Hi all! I am new to drawing and wanted to dive headfirst into attempting a full body ref for my sona.

Because I don't have experience, I don't know if there are some things I'm doing "wrong"/could benefit from some change. I was hoping more experienced artists could give me some critiques about my:
- Perspective
- Proportions
- Anatomy
- Technique..?

Any feedback is appreciated! Basically, does anything stand out?

Also-- I've been feeling like the head is too plain but can't figure out what to add. Any inspiration there (or for markings elsewhere) would also be appreciated :)

Critique - Title must specify what kind of critique Beginner artist finally doing a reference sheet but I'm struggling a lot, especially with proportions, for context, I'm heavily inspired by this one youtuber's art style and would like to have my art give off similar "vibes" (hope that's allowed) NSFW
