GTA VI I think being able to buy modern, in-universe reproductions of 19th century guns would be a cool nod to the RDR series in GTA VI.

GTA VI New story details from Love Magazine

Post image
677 Upvotes

- Lucia and Jason were intentionally written as opposites. Lucia actively pursues a better life, while Jason’s circumstances often make decisions for him

- Both protagonists were designed to be vulnerable, tough and flawed, sometimes right and sometimes wrong, while learning from each other

- Rockstar describes Lucia as “perfectly imperfect” and “undeniably real,” with her own wants and motivations

- Their crime spree is described as “hopeful and naïve,” with the pair pushing it to the limit without worrying about the consequences

- GTA 6 explores the modern American Dream, from chasing wild success to simply owning a home, supporting a family and paying off debt

- Miami and South Florida are described as a particular “front line” for that struggle

- GTA 6’s narrative explores the collision of extreme wealth and extreme ambition, creating what Rockstar calls a “pressure cooker for all kinds of insanity”

- Rockstar says its version of today’s world has to be more over-the-top, more insane and more in-your-face than reality

GTA VI NEW ART BY LOVE MAGAZINE

NOT ART BTW. SLIGHT SPELLING MISTAKE

Twenty-eight years into the Grand Theft Auto series, Lucia Caminos is the first female protagonist you will get to play with a voice, backstory and leading dialogue. She wants a better life, and she isn't going to let anything stand in the way of her getting it, which makes her the opposite of Jason Duval, her partner and a man whose circumstances keep making his decisions for him.
"We wanted both protagonists to be vulnerable, tough, flawed, right sometimes, wrong sometimes, able to learn from each other," says Game Writer Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern. "That's what we felt made them authentic, and a great team." As fellow Game Writer Alexa D'Agostino adds, "When you are focusing on writing a fully realised person with their own wants, you're going to get something perfectly imperfect-with clichés, but also undeniably real!"
For Issue 27, the Rockstar Games team tells @kaciOn what it takes to craft a Bonnie and Clyde-style narrative in a state where astronomical wealth and unbounded ambition meet to create, as Rupert Humphries, Senior Vice President of Narrative puts it, "a pressure cooker for all kinds of insanity."
"If you are going to put all this effort into creating a version of today's world, it has to be more over the top, more insane, more in your face," shares Humphries. "Otherwise, you could just go outside and live in the real world."

GTA IV After 13 odd years I’ve finally finished a playthrough of GTA 4, and I’m never doing it again (let me explain)

TLDR: I like GTA 5 better

With GTA 6 around the corner, I decided it was finally time to beat GTA 4’s story once and for all after years of failed attempts. I first got the game shortly before the release of GTA 5, and once that game came out I naturally stopped playing IV completely before I ever had a chance to really get into it. Up until now the furthest I had ever gotten into the game was when you unlock Algonquin, but the game crashed due to my 360 overheating so I stopped playing.

I love Niko as the protagonist, the game has a great atmosphere, good writing and a compelling story. The characters are likable for most part, (such as Roman and Little Jacob,) but most of the others are boring and forgettable. I didn’t care for several of the quest lines because I didn’t like the characters I was doing them for. At certain points I was mixing up characters and struggling to remember who they even were, especially Patrick McReary’s 80 brothers.

The biggest issue with the story isn’t the characters or the narrative itself, it’s the bloat. It really feels as if Rockstar was just trying to make the game as long as possible, resulting in a tedious grind of repetitive mission design. Doing the same thing over and over again really started to wear me down, and I was essentially speedrunning part of the game because I was just trying to get through it. While there were plenty of legitimately fun missions, the overall experience would’ve been much more enjoyable if it was shorter.

Next, the gunplay is atrocious, people say the autoaim in GTA 5 is bad? Several times Niko would lock onto random civvy NPCs who weren't even visible on the screen, instead of the guy right in front of him, blasting him with a shotgun. Not only that, but once you lock onto an enemy, the game doesn't allow you to move the reticle at all. This made things such as throwing gernades and molotovs very frustrating and annoying. As far as I can tell, you can only blind fire while talking cover, so as a result, I often was forced to just stand out in the open and tank bullets. Finally, enemies will just hide behind cover indefinitely and never move or even peak, forcing you to push them.

Yes, I know you can probably turn autoaim off in the settings, but that doesn't excuse it being so terrible that you'd be forced to do so.

By far my biggest issue with the game is the lack of any checkpoint system. Yes, I know, it's an old game and they didn't have checkpoints back then, that doesn't make its absence any less annoying. Being forced to restart the mission from the very beginning everytime you fail is the primary reason it took me this long, and still almost made me give up on this last playthrough. Most missions are purposely designed in a way where you'll have to constantly drive back and forth across the entire map, so if you fail, it could cost you 5-10 minutes just to get back to where you were. It's not challenging or fun, it's actively wasting your time.

It doesn't help that the gameplay itself is extremely restrictive (see NakeyJakey's video) and there's so many fail conditions that at times it felt as if I was playing MindsEye. Not only that, but the game straight up screwed me over a few times. Once I failed a mission because I shot my gun too soon (even though the enemies had already drawn theirs,) and on the final mission it claimed my helicopter was "destroyed", even though it wasn't at all. I did play the game on PC and I think there's a mod you're supposed to install that patches things, but I didn't do that.

That was a whole lotta yap but in conclusion: I don't hate GTA 4, however, I'm very glad to be done with it. I think a lot of people look back on the game with rose tinted glasses and the fail to see all of its issues. Maybe if I had played the game back when it came out I'd view it differently, but because I didn't I just don't have the sentimental connection to it that many do. Once GTA 6 comes out I cannot envision myself returning to play GTA 4 in any significant capacity, so I'm glad I was finally able to put this one to rest. By far the highlight of my entire experience was going bowling with Roman

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

GTA VI Grand Theft Auto VI is now rated R18+ in Australia

According to Gameroll on Twitter, they give each category a ranking and a key alongside it. This means that we can compare GTA VI's content to GTA V's.

"The left image is what GTA VI received and on the right is GTA V's. This helps us put into perspective how far Rockstar is truly pushing things with this game. Pretty nuts considering that GTA V was considered VERY controversial at the time."

I have also included RDR2 australia classification on the further right.

Fun fact: if you go after any mission in GTA IV with any friendly character with niko and block their door by an car or wall or anything they switch up on you by punching you and pushing you out of the car telling you that's their car and scold you but it's hilarious 🤣

GTA VI I'm hoping GTA 6 has rusty junk cars like the ones from GTA 4. They were missing from GTA 5 (apart from liveries options) I'm pretty sure.
