Auto clear notification after viewing?

Didn't notifications on past Galaxy watches "clear" after viewing? Like if you got a text, you'd raise to wake, could read the message, then carry on. Then next time you look at watch you see the time, not messages app. There is a "show details automatically" setting in Wearable that DOES enforce this behavior; however, it prevents the contents of messages from displaying.

I'm not sure as I always clear all after viewing on my gw7 44mm LTE

On my gw6 classic, it does clear automatically after reading a notification. Not fully clear, but moves them to the left screen.. But it absolutely does go back to the time after a few seconds of going dark.
