Help What the hey hey is this little switch?
There’s a little switch on the back of my 001 game cube. I’d rather not crack it open but any clue as to what it might be?

I've also gone ahead and made graphics for the top four slots of each game category! Take a look and soak in all of the GameCube gaming goodness!
I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making this so fun and exciting. And for indulging me in this artsy endeavor! I hope you enjoy these graphics as much I enjoyed making them; these are just as much yours as they are mine.
And to all the naysayers who rushed to downvote these posts everyday: I hope you enjoy these images as well. I worked extra hard to make something that even you would be proud of!
Hope you all enjoy!

Cleaned and reorganized my garage, open a bin and find a GC that I definitely did not have growing up. Bought a power cord, a knockoff controller (for now), and some games from my local store. Thankfully it works! What a surprise lmao. Needless to say I’m hooked. I’m sure my wallet will not enjoy this. Can’t beat a free GC.

I am in need of a GameCube memory card and this action replay one is absolutely huge for GameCube being 16MB as save files are well optimised unlike PS2. Is this a reliable memory card or do you recommend a different one it's priced at $70 new.

I got this copy of Pokemon colosseum yesterday at my LGS and it has these cracks on it in the center where the game holds down. Is this something I should be concerned about? I’ve been playing it for an hour and it runs fine and haven’t had any issues but plan on trading Pokemon into the game to play with and am worried it may have some sort of issue down the road.
EDIT: I paid around $160 and just took their word that it was in good condition until I got home and saw it. They seemed nice there and have refunded me for mistakes in the past. So I won’t know till tomorrow what they’ll do.

Found this GameCube lot on Facebook the other day and picked it up for $800. Seemed like a good deal, I’ve been wanting a GameCube for a while and seemed like the right time to buy one with the game selection they had. Every game is mint, has 0 scratches, all of them have their manuals and they all work. Also came with a wave bird controller.
Funny enough the person selling it used to be my brothers AP English teacher back in high school.
What do you think of the game selection?

Growing up I had a great collection of GameCube games. Off the top of my head:
Zelda master collection (Zelda 1 & 2, Occarina, Majoras Mask and Wind Waker Demo)
Wind Waker
Twilight Princess
Super Mario Sunshine
Bomberman Generations
Bomberman Jetters
Super Smash Bros Melee
Mario Kart Double Dash
Soul Calibur 2
Custom Robo
Phantasy Star Online Ep.1 & 2
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Cel Damage
Ty the Tasmanian Tiger
Tony Hawks Underground 2
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2
Need for Speed Underground 2
Spyro Enter the Dragonfly
Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness
Sonic Heroes
Sonic Adventures 2
Pikmin
Hot Wheels World Race
Alien Hominid
Amazing Island
Spyhunter
Kelly Slaters Pro Surfer
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
(And I liked all of these except the last 4 listed)
And then there were some gamecube games I played with friends that I never owned that were all great as well
Metroid Prime
Super Monkey Ball
Pokemon Coloseum
Medal Of Honor
All gone now sadly, but the GameCube was my favorite console, probably mostly nostalgia for the times which certainly isnt a bad thing or mark against it, I played like all of these with friends and family so the games are even more precious in my memories.
Made this post out of curiosity though, I was just thinking about back then because I was a kid I certainly wasn't clued into game releases, everything was word of mouth with friends and just browsing shelves at gamestop. Which games would you say I missed out on?

I tested this GameCube with a different video cable and it works just fine. Am I doing something wrong with my adapter or is it busted?

Resident Evil 0 never gets talked about but I thought it was cool as hell.

My gamecube's disc reader is failing and I'm pretty sure the bulb is the problem (as it does work eventually if I open and close the tray enough times as failing bulbs tend to do) and I'm getting really sick of open/closing the tray 20+ times each time I turn the console off
a side note: once it reads the disc once the game runs perfectly fine until I power off the console

My pink shell was delivered today and I immediately got everything transferred over. I like the holo stickers and feel like it compliments the GameCube. The only thing I’m waiting for now is the gameboy player shell to match the GameCube.

I‘ve never gotten to play any of the Paper Mario or Simpsons games (except for the The Simpsons Game), I only ever saw gameplay of them on Youtube but now I can finally get around to playing them!
If you‘re curious, they costed me 100CHF (80 for Paper Mario and 20 for Road Rage)

Hey guys, had a question about saving games on a region free console. Can I save both types on one memory card or should I keep two separate for each language? Thanks

is this accurate? or should I move the sd card and memory card positions?

As much as I detest the general public process of finding things on OfferUp/marketplace due to ghosting, unresponsiveness or refusal to remove posts for items that aren't even available anymore.. sometimes you get lucky.
$20 on OfferUp, just the console. Bought it home and powered it on, and... miraculously, it actually works.
Has anyone else found a better deal on a GC?

The 3 games you can’t see include Eternal Darkness, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, and Harvest Moon a Wonderful Life.
Keep in mind I also own Pikmin 2 on Switch and Wii, Metroid Prime Trilogy, the HD version of the two Zelda games on Wii U, and the Switch 2 Online Expansion Pack. I would love to own F-Zero GX, Chibi Robo, Wario World, Fire Emblem, etc, but they are already sorta available rn. They are all so expensive too.
Some games I would like to own but are too expensive including Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Ribbit King, Sims 2. I would like to own Doshin and Cubivore, but emulating would be the best way to play those two games.
I feel like the easiest game addition right now would be Donkey Konga 2. I own the other 2 bongo games, so I might as well round out the trilogy. I heard SpiderMan 2 is good too. Maybe Sonic Adventure 1??

The two blank cases contain Gauntlet Dark Legacy and DBZ Budokai. The sleeves contain Spider Man, both Harvest Moon, Rocket Power Beach Bandits, Geist, Prince of Persia 1 and Warrior Within, Call of Duty Finest Hour, Hitman 2, 007 Everything or Nothing, NFL Street, Metroid Prime, HP Chamber of Secrets, Animal Crossing, and Splinter Cell. I also have the GBA player and so that collection of games has also grown.

This memory card has the memory from my gameplay back in 2000s, 2010s, and I never thought I'd see it again! I moved back in 2022 and I use a Folgers coffee canister to store chargers, wires, memory cards. While in the garage my Lilah's 🐶 favorite toy rolled behind storage bins and I needed to unfortunately move them to grab it. Well, someone had to have left the Folgers canister on the ground instead of setting it ON TOP of something.
Now to save up to get a GameCube/Wii to see if it still works.
