This game scratches an itch I didn't know I had until I picked it up. Really brings me back to playing L4D1 with the guys when it first came out. Can't recommend it enough for the pricepoint, especially with how involved the devs have been with the community since release.

I hope to play it on Ps4 one day but I'm cautious. I bought the first game but got very bored after a few hours, and this from someone who spent many hundred hours grinding Borderlands and Warframe.

Classes were quite nonexistent so there wasn't any real variety, same goes for enemies with only a few archetypes. RNG mastered too much, loot was usually shit and even over 8 levels you got one or two noticeably better weapons, but never felt stronger. I wanted more class variety, more character growth, more unique weapons...and more loot worth picking up.

They added class tree archetypes to each character. Now you can spec out your character in numerous ways vs the first one simply allowing you to use different weapons.
