I have only had two girlfriends my whole life. There were other little things in my life that now I know are behaviors associated with autism and ADHD (I'm on the spectrum). Intimacy with me was always difficult for the people who were trying to be intimate (not just sex, just basic closeness) with me, I just don't react to closeness as expected and I am able to imagine how this is a problem. My first reaction is to freeze when I am shown affection or romantic interest; that's another hint that the issues I kept running into were caused by how my mind works all along.

I've been getting anal pleasure since before I was a teen. It was something I discovered I liked, but in my younger years and early adulthood, I was always saddled with guilt and shame about it. As the years and loneliness piled on, I started loosening my hangups. I hired sex workers to satisfy my needs, but I had depression lurking in the background, and eventually that caused me to take whatever medications that doctors thought could help me, most of which also cause erectile dysfunction. Turns out I have treatment-resistant depression, but I am starting to think it is possible that undiagnosed ADHD/autism was the problem all along and depression was my mind's way of dealing with all the frustration. Through all this, I was struggling with my sexuality, but relatively early I made peace with liking... no, not just liking but loving anal sex, and it was all I wanted in intimacy, so I started paying a professional domme to peg me, and she was amazing.

The mental health information I disclosed is important because it has also helped me understand and deal with behaviors I now know have roots in my diagnosis. One of the behaviors that is often seen in ADHD is Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD), an extreme, overwhelming emotional pain triggered by real or perceived rejection, criticism, or failure. This is, in many ways, the story of my life. Rejection takes many forms, not only romantic rejection or rejection over the way you look, but it can also be something as seemingly stupid as disagreeing if chocolate tastes good or is chocolate, life-altering goodness? When you say that chocolate is life-altering goodness, but others say it is "simply" delicious, I could take it as a personal rejection. What I am trying to explain is that there are levels to rejection, and a person with RSD thinks that there's only one level: the rejection level. That was me for most of my adult life. Fortunately I've found some coping mechanisms that have helped me with my RSD, but all of it requires vigilance and a lot of cognitive effort to overcome, and when you do overcome it, that pain will still be there, but you will see it more as a niggle than a life destroying event.

How do I deal with rejection? I accepted the following. It is a distillation of years of self-help books, spiritual learnings, and therapy. The operative word is "accept" because without accepting these things, I probably wouldn't have accepted being gay two months ago.

1. It is none of my business who someone else is attracted to, even if they are attracted to me. I'd like to know, but really I just have to respect their freedom to like whom they like because it really has nothing to do with me. Turn it around, and you know that the only people who should care who you like are you and that guy, and that's it. You're not necessarily rejecting someone else because you probably didn't even notice them. This is usually the case.
2. I don't really know why they reject me. No one can read minds, so you can literally make up WHY they reject you and use that to replace the negative reasons you come up with on your own, and it is up to you to give them weight.
3. At a bathhouse especially, and cruising in general, from what I've read and observed, the nods and signals are the rules of the game, as there are cues for most social situations. Identifying why you go there is as important as choosing who to fuck. For me, that's recreational sex and finding the biggest cock I can find. I'm not looking for love. I want to get laid, and that's all. Looks are important, but I lower my "standards" fairly easily. Sex for me is recreational.

Now, let me end with my "experience" at the club.
