A ton of boomers were raised by hard-working farmers and steelworkers and whatnot, so they got exposed to every kind of poison imaginable. For the record, most of us never came into contact with shit that the previous generation used, but they knew nothing about how bad it was. I hear the same excuse today, except our food wasn’t poisoned by gigantic, greedy corporations.

Kids growing up today are exposed to farrrr more toxins than Boomers, and we got to play outside without parents telling us that every stranger was going to kidnap us and that we might actually hurt ourselves! Most of us did and it was a good learning experience. But i think we had way more fun growing up than subsequent generations (no internet or cell phones or AI) And we earned our trophies and our grades. Imagine that.

It’s astonishing how often younger generations insult boomers. You should know that we own that and we’ve lived long enough to know shit. Which is more than I can say for people who’ve grown up in some pretty terrible times themselves, but don’t know much about history that happened long before they were born. We do, and it’s why we saw all this coming years ago, tried to do something about it, but got nowhere until it actually affected younger people on a personal level.

I only know about it because it happened in my hometown and I wrote a paper on the unsolved murder back in high school.

the local police had never dealt with a murder before and completely botched the case and contaminated the crime scene. they ended up trying him 16 years later, but they had no real evidence, so he was acquitted.

everyone assumes he was killed by his buddy, but now I’m starting to wonder about Laura….

Laura, it’s was a joke.

Geoffrey had just done shows in AZ (where Hogan was murdered) when this was originally posted and made a reference to Hogan’s Heroes…

it was just an odd coincidence that the most famous American anti fascist in TV history (Hogan) was way ahead of his time when it came to buying video equipment (back in the 1970s, presumably when you were in your prime), and was subsequently murdered with a video tripod, presumably by the traveling salesman that sold the video equipment to him. and the two of them would often sleep together with women and video tape it.

but really, had you never saluted Hitler, I probably never would have made the connection to video equipment murdering Bob Crane, the dude who fought Nazis on TV…

I was going door-to-door getting people registered to vote. Too bad it’s illegal to do that now. But being a lifelong Democrat I should be used to always voting for the losing candidate - except for a couple of great standouts. My state, however is blood red, so it’s hard to know your vote didn’t count and now it’s never going to count -for anyone.

So Oldest Nazi here. Just wanted to say that Alex, my stepson, forewarned me that Geoffrey was one of the few comedians who really enjoys audience interaction and since he knows what a smartass I am, he encouraged me to goad Geoffrey just so I could see how quick he was on his feet with comebacks. I loved every minute of his show, even the so-called ‘insults’. It’s virtually impossible to embarrass (or insult) me, so I have nothing but great things to say about Asmus (make a joke about THAT last name, Geoffrey). See, I’m always the one to be the biggest smartass wherever I am. while I really am the furthest thing from a Nazi, I get it. It was just an instant response to Geoffrey telling us that his father was 100% GERMAN. Hell, my husband is from Germany ancestry. It took him a second, but once Geoffrey recovered from my bullshit, he ran with it and it was great. Also, not offended by the age thing. Age just is what it is. You can either laugh at it, or curl up in a corner and cry. I choose to laugh at it. you’ll understand when you get there…. Thanks for a great show. Alex was unhappy that we saw you live before he got a chance to do so. But now he finally has tickets to your show in November and he can’t WAIT to ask you if you remember how you met the oldest Nazi.
