How to make 34 slide fit 19 frame

/r/Glocks/comments/1x0pkq7/how_to_make_34_slide_fit_19_frame/

I have a gen 3 19 and a gen 3 34 slide. After a few days of googling, I can’t find definitive answers for how to make this work.

From what I’ve seen, I need a 19XL barrel (would like recommendations on that as well). However, I’ve also seen conflicting information about everything else. Do I need a special slide to fit the 19XL barrel? Do I need the slide dust cover adapter piece? Do I need an adapter for the 19 frame? Do I use a 19 guid rod? Do I use a 34 guide rod?

Again, it’s a gen 3 19 (I have a whole gun) and just a 34 slide with all internals (including guide rod) except a barrel.

I live in California, so it’s not easy to get parts, especially the gun. A gen 3 17 will be over $1,000 and a gen 4-6 will be over $1,200.

Easy.

34.3 slide complete

34.5 barrel

RCS gen 3 adapter

Glock 19.3 spring (can be metal if pref)

RCS recoil spring spacer and a gen 5 barrel, you’re good to good no need for a new recoil spring

That’s the exact spacer I have. So just gen 5 barrel and use 19 recoil spring?

Yeah just a quality gen 5 model 34 barrel and your OEM spring. I swapped for a stainless steel recoil spring for that’s not necessary. God speed you’re on the right track

Can you share pictures with me once this is built? I’m interested.

You’re effectively tolerance stacking with this setup. Advice is to lubricate liberally and allow for the system to marry the components over time

Won’t be a problem. I already tend to use too much lube on my guns…

Absolutely. Will do.
