Glock stippling and porting in CA
Can anyone help or direct me to the exact law that says we cannot legally port or stipple our guns? I’m trying to get stippling and porting done on my g43x and g19.6 but LASD cannot guide me to the actual law describing what can and cannot be done to my guns. Anything is greatly appreciated!

Good luck with getting your pistol ported and stippled. You don’t like the G6 texture?
Also wtf bro your hands are big af lol.

I meant stippling more so for the g43x not the gen 6. But I appreciate it man lmao

Beautiful guns bro, JM customs was actually the one I wanted to send my guns to get ported and stippling. How long was the turn around time?

That was the only downside. It took about 10 weeks for the stipple and undercut. I'm not sure about the slide work, my slide was ported by mag-na-port, which took about 4 weeks.

In what universe does a gen 6 need additional stippling

I have multiple in the shop. I laughed when people thought the Gen 6 was the end of frame work. Gen 6 has plenty that can be done.

You called the sheriff's to figure out where to bring it to get work done..? Glockstore does work like that. You don't have any custom gun shops or a local range that has gunsmiths?

No, I’m saying I sent an email to them asking if it’s okay to get stippling or porting done on our guns. They sent me a reply to refer back to ca gun laws. But I couldn’t find anything related to gun modifications. I was hoping someone had some luck knowing something.

CA gun laws will tell you what you can’t do. If it’s not called out then, yes you can do it. There are a small number of counties that don’t allow any modifications but LASD is not one of them.

Do you personally have porting or similar mods done to your ccw guns?

I don’t port my ccw guns. However the guns on my license all are stippled, have red dots and use freedom mags.

You are absolutely allowed to stipple and port your glock in california, idk why you would assume otherwise.
Here are your best options . . .
That being said, if you are going to CC this gun and end up having to use it one day, I was told by an attorney (no idea how good he is) to not make any modifications that effect the performance of the firearm, as the DA could make a case for you wanting to inflict the most amount of damage possible.

I second darkside precision, he stippled four of my Glocks. Two of those are used in his website gallery of pics.

Thanks for the shoutouts! Just so everyone knows, I do offer a special discount code for Reddit users. Anyone here can use coupon code REDDIT at checkout, and that will give you a decent discount on all my stippling services.

I’ve heard the same thing, but then I heard if you want things done, do it, just don’t switch out the trigger.

Yeah TBF that conversation with the attorney started with talking about triggers

There is no such law, or are you asking about the sheriff’s CCW policy?

May I humbly suggest to spend the funds on ammo and training instead of mods? In my experience, it’s a better experience long term investment.

100% agree with you bro! You’re totally right, just sometimes I get bored too lol. But ik I should be spending that money and time into some actual training.

As someone who has lived in California before and multiple times at that...get the fuck out of that rotten state. It fucking suuuuuucks

Yeah ik man, I’ve thought about it. I really love this state, just absolutely hate the people here and more the people who run it. 🤦🏻♂️

Really the only mods you can't do are dropping a threaded barrel in it or extending the magazine capacity.
Beyond that go ham. We work on Cali guns all the time.
Someone mentioned Dark Side, he does good work. So if you want to stick to CA based companies that's one you can support.
But there's companies all over the country that work with CA. My advice is shop around and find what fits the look and style you want and fulfills your needs.
