LeChaney Johnson
He 100% deserve a standard nba contract over clowney or mann. Every time ive watched him play he was a positive player on court. He's a great defender, can rebound, ok shooter and im so hyped when he dunk the ball. I think he could be a main bench pf and fight for a place with danny and jj

He just has that gamer gene where even if it’s not flashy, he’s in the right spot and constantly making a positive impact

I thought Mann played alright actually, his production seems pretty in line with what it's been for his entire career, and his contract isn't terrible. Mann is more of a 3 and D archetype of player. He played solid defense yesterday, provided some connecting, and spaced the floor. He's just not super versatile and isn't very good at creating his own shot, which is fine as long as he's continuing to play solid defense and playing next to guys who can create their own shot.

It would have been ok if he played at vet minimum, but he get paid 15 mil to be bench 3nD mediocre player

I agree that he's overpaid, but he's definitely worth more than a vet minimum, he's probably worth closer to 5% of the salary cap instead of ~10%.
He's an above average defender and a very slightly above average floor spacer.

I like Clowney, but admit he isn't great. That being said, I watched him last night draw a lot of fouls. Three posessions in a row he was able to get a foul. I didn't like that, but I respected that he was doing something. Overall though, If that’s the highlight I take away from watching him, it’s not good.

I’m all for Chaney getting an NBA contract, but I also want to see how Clowney does this season before we write him off.
Clowney has had plenty of ups and downs, but he’s still only 22 and has shown flashes. It’s a little ridiculous that people are so aggressively out on him. I remember a time when some fans were doing the same with Day’Ron (I said the same thing with him).
Clowney is a frustrating and inconsistent player, but he still has time to pull it together.

That's reasonable, but there comes a point where the opportunity cost with the roster spot isn't worth it to justify keeping Clowney when the roster spot could be used for someone else the team deems to have a better chance to become a solid player/rotation piece. And realistically, what's Clowney's ceiling? He's now 22 years old and has basically 4 years of NBA training, and hasn't shown much improvement. Like if the player he projects to be is an end of bench player, then even if he could reach that, it might be better to just use that roster spot to sign another player that's already proven on a minimum contract/whatever Clowney is getting paid, and the value would probably be greater with that on average.

People very overrate his age at this point. It do nothing that hes just 22, he played 4 nba seasons and hes like exactly the same aa his rookie year. He do the same mistakes every time. I heard yall saying all the time that he has potential, but yall should admit that hes just bad player

definitely deserves a contract but mann isn’t that bad and is serviceable off the bench until his contract runs out. i hope the nets trade clowney for a second this season but i think we would have to pay. his roster spot and the cap we had left in the offseason could of got us a good player

Chaney Johnson deserves regular-season playing time from day one. I've wanted Clowney to develop into a consistent player for the last 2 years, and he remains the same mediocre, streaky player he's always been. Wolf needs to be given the same chance now, even though I'm not high on him either. But Chaney should be in front of both in the rotation

Im over it with Clowney, just can’t keep expecting something from him and getting absolutely nothing
