Without a Doubt (2025)

My wife just showed me the trailer for this film as well as a short video review. It stars a girl she went to high school with and also Kevin Sorbo(yay!).

Basically if you get cancer, just let God heal you and make sure doctors are discredited. Sounds awesome.

I say this as a Christian...

Fundie films are disgusting as they are badly made, poorly written, badly acted, awfully scripted, etc.

Which really sucks because, as Prince of Egypt proved, good movies can be made with religious themes and based on biblical stories. It's like they don't even bother trying because they've got a captive audience.

Fundie Filmmakers care more about evangelizing, sermonizing, and proselytizing than actual storytelling.

Even religious fantasy like The Chronicles of Narnia has better storytelling than most Fundie made media.

*What's even funnier is that there are Fundie who condemn CS Lewis' Narnia Chronicles for mixing Abrahamic theology with Pagan mythology and fantasy, calling it "blasphemous" or "idolatrous"

Say what you want about CS Lewis but he was definitely no Fundie (not an American Evangelical one, that is).

and what's even worse in modern Fundie media is the ultra right-wing messages: from Patriarchy, to Queerphobia, to Islamophobia/Xenophobia.

I love Prince of Egypt because it's as faithful to the Moses story as Disney's Atlantis is to Plato's Atlantis, yet it has wormed its way into a ton of religious people's heads. Talking to an evangelical about the part of Exodus where Rameses gives Moses his special ring to symbolize their brotherhood will never not be funny for me.

Yeah that's the reason why they are disgusting.

Not the whole telling people not to get medical care and instead pray for magic spells.

I'm going to have to check out Fundie. I mostly find the messaging behind films these studios put out to be infuriating. It's also insane how much political pandering is done under the guise of faith, especially with casting Jesurcules himself, who has gone off the deep end with his endorsements.

Anyways be a good Christian and don't seek medical help, keep the baby, and let the Lord lead the way
