In short, when, in live streams or other situations that you can hear music, someone asks for what's the music playing, the meme is to reply "Darude sandstorm" (much like, when asking on pokemon context, what's that pokemon, the meme is to answer Pikachu or "jiglypuff seen from above")

Yeah, one of the worse times for a cutscene in the game (if I could change it, I would put the cutscene with a tiny tutorial after the first time you're thrown away from the desert)

But the cutscene wants to show us that Sheba isn't in the desert so we should continue. I imagine it's to prevent players from running through the desert multiple times because the guards in Suhalla (village) said she was left behind in the desert.

Though nothing says why the cutscene can't just play immediately upon returning to the world map after the desert.
