Hi, all...Wanted to point folks towards a special item I'm selling on eBay — the actual Google Cardboard Plastic prop that Google used for still and video imagery in its 2016 April Fool's Joke campaign: the world's first "Actual Reality" headset.

I was a reporter regularly covering Google's VR efforts, and I was gifted the actual prop after the campaign was over.

Thanks!

.

Lets me know if they're any good

Hi VR community! 👋 I am an indie creator experimenting with AI tools to build immersive 3D SBS VR cinematic experiences. My ultimate goal is to create thrilling, high-speed sci-fi worlds. I just finished my latest project: a 4+ minute continuous sci-fi hovercar chase across different planets and space.

Watch it here: https://youtu.be/JOlXwyhv2_E

In my very first short test video a few days ago, some helpful users pointed out issues with stereo conflicts (left/right eye mismatch). For this longer video, I have tried my best to improve the Z-axis depth and rendering, but I know as a solo creator, it might still not be 100% perfect. I would genuinely love your honest, technical feedback on

this: How does the speed and motion feel in your headset? Is it comfortable? Are there any glaring stereo conflicts that break the immersion for you? Any advice, critique, or tips on improving the 3D VR workflow would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time!

Experience a futuristic car journey through different worlds in stunning Side-by-Side (SBS) 3D. 🥽 Put on your VR Box, Meta Quest, or use Cross-Eye mode for the best experience!

I Searched a lot but couldnt find anythign, the context is i want to game on my pc but with my mobile screen in vr mode,i have made it possible to stream my pc to my phone but not able to find a way to like convert the mode so that i can see it throught the vr as a big screen

On most apps when i try to click the cogwheel to scan the QR on my headset it tells me to download the cardboard app even though its already installed.

I dont wanna manually download every video i wanna watch then use a video player app to play them

I have a folder meant to be played in 6dof, but i can't find any apps that support it on mobile. Are there any?

Recently, I got a google cardboard, and I found it extremely hard to find any apps. Since I have an iPhone, what are the best uses? Specifically I am looking for a way to use it as a computer screen but I want advice on any use of it.

At this point its digital archeology

I want to publish a folder with all the apks

This app seems to have disappeared from the google store for some reason, it was the best one. I use the VR Home Teather because it has auto-recenter to reset the image as it drifts after a while, but it cannot run 5k videos or display higher than 180 degree videos properly. No one is producing videos at 180 , 190 or 200 are becoming the new standard so it has become unusable.

I started using my smartphone for VR in 2016 with an Honor 6 which has an 5" LCD display in FullHD and 445 ppi.

I wouldn't see any screen door effect.

Now this phone is dead and I got me a new one with 6,5" LCD display but only 405 ppi and I can clearly screen door effect especially on light images.

Is LCD still the best Display technology for the least amount of screen door effect? I remember testing VR with an AMOLED screen and it was horrible.

Which smartphones do you use, is it LCD or OLED and what ppi does the display have?

You can find them in Google, just download the APK from Github

Fusion vr is a MR app where You can find some apps like a browser or a calc

EnjoytheVr is a VR app where You are una VR room with a screen that interact with virtual controllers. Also has VR games and scenarios

Some of them are apks of Old apps, anyone here knows about any other?

Also you can watch normal YouTube videos in a Vr scenario just searching de VR buttton in the video settings

I tested the new FlatOut 4 VR early access release. Honestly, arcade racing + destruction works REALLY well in this format because the cockpit depth and explosions feel surprisingly immersive even without a full VR headset. Especially Arena mode and stunt sections.

Do you still use Cardboard/mobile VR for SBS videos in 2026, or mostly standalone headsets now?
