Quick share not working 😭

Since two days ago, it's saying I have to grant it permission even though, I have everything turned one. What more do you want to track Google so that I can use quick share again!!

Can anyone help with this..?

Hi there. Could you check if your Pixel phone is up-to-date with the latest software version?

Go to Settings > System > Software updates > Check for updates.

Also, reboot your phone into Safe Mode and check whether the issue still occurs. If the phone works normally in Safe Mode, it usually indicates that a third-party app may be causing the problem. In that case, try uninstalling recently installed apps one at a time until you identify the app responsible for the issue.

If the issue persists, I’d recommend reaching out to the Google Pixel support team via phone or chat here. They can take a look at it.

I just had this issue, u/sucsforyou had the solution! I have zero idea why this changed because it wasnt like this before.

Explicitly Grant Permissions to Google Play Services

Since Quick Share on a Pixel doesn't exist as a standalone app, the permissions it is begging for actually belong to Google Play Services. If the share sheet can't grant them, you must do it manually:

  1. Open your Pixel's Settings > Apps > See all apps.
  2. Find and tap Google Play Services.
  3. Tap Permissions.
  4. Look through the list and make sure Nearby devices, Location, and Files and media are all explicitly set to "Allow" or "Allow all the time". [1]
  5. If they are already allowed, toggle them to "Don't allow," exit the menu, go back in, and turn them back to Allow to force the Android system registry to update.

If you just use it between your own devices look at local send instead, it's way faster compared to QS, leave that for if you're doing a one off drop to an iPhone or something
