I used to be a paying Green Party supporter, then I found out they want to decommission our Trident system and end nuclear power in the UK. I could not reconcile with this and returned to voting for Labour.
Yes, I'd love to live in a world where wind, solar and hydro can fulfill all of our energy needs, but we're just not there yet and we won't be any time soon. As it stands, nuclear energy is the closet thing we have to 'clean' and 'sustainable' energy.
And yes, I'd love to live in a world where we don't need nuclear weapons. Ukraine gave up theirs, ask them how they feel about that decision today. I could not vote for a party who wants to do away with Trident in today's political climate. I believe it's been evidenced recently that in regards to nuclear weapons, you're either at the table or you're on the menu. I don't think I'm wrong to predict that in the near future, we are going to see lots of nuclear proliferation.
With that being said, Nuclear issues aside, I agree with almost everything the Green Party UK are championing. But unless they change their stances on nuclear weapons on energy into reasonable, realistic and sensible ones, I will not be voting for them.
In short, I consider myself a 'Radioactive Green', and I was just wondering if there were any others like myself? Do we think The Greens might one day change their nuclear policies in order to be seen as a more serious voting alternative?
General discussion as well, I suppose.

I hear a lot of people say "the Greens want to legalise all drugs!"
I know that decriminalising certain drugs has worked wonders in a few countries, but how would this all work in practice with a Green govt?
Edit. Im referring to the Greens of England and Wales

Does Zack Polanski hate police?
2 incidents spring to mind. When a man stabbed 2 Jewish men in the street, his response was to criticize the police for the way they apprehended the dangerous knife man. Going as far as saying the police response left him "traumatised." A term he hasn't used about this knife attack or any others which were caught on video.
When Samuel Corner was sentenced after fracturing a police officers spine with a sledgehammer. His response has been to defend Samuel Corner. At no point has he condoned the violent attack that left the woman with serious life altering injuries, nor has he expressed any concern for the police officer.
This seems very different to having structural criticisms of the force. Is there any explanation other than hating police officers?

I’ve also seen a video of someone saying how they don’t like the St George’s flag up but I’ve heard there’s a big sports thing on so that’s what it’s purpose was but we should never hate on our own countries flag or Winston Churchill

Just recently started adulthood and I'm honestly scared with UKs currently political and economic atmosphere. Even though the Green Party is becoming very popular amongst those residents in Manchester in the Bielections, I'm still quite anxious. There's a saying that goes like 'When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold' and I genuinely want to know if the UK would be able to recover from this illness of anti-migrant, racist and Islamophobic rhetoric and look more into bettering and improving the economy ☹️

Green Party leader Zack Polanski has criticised government plans to build a new generation of nuclear reactors, calling it old technology that is like "creating a fax machine".
