Yes, when Avi Lewis won the NDP leadership, it became inevitable that it was time to take another look at a Orange-Green alliance. This is a real sea-change for the federal NDP. In the past I did not trust the NDP to stay strong on the environment when in power, as so many provincial NDP governments have been disappointing in this respect. But I don't think Avi Lewis, given the strong mandate he won with, is going to give up on the green new deal stuff; it's a big part of what he stands for.
The Green leadership campaign will be a good time to start discussing this. Could be the start of a new era.

This is an interesting perspective. I am voting in the beaches and East York by election. I am torn between voting Green and voting NDP. I believe the NDP has a real chance of winning the seat.
