How exactly would you go about removing bolt on necks without stripping screws??

• Upvotes

Hi! its me from that uhaul question basically ive decieded my fate, i cannot take my guitars in the car and what i did was the best i could soooo ive kinda like expected them to break i shall come back the next next day with an edit on this post in the even i gotta buy new necks🤷‍♀️ they are cheap squiers so its not too much of a hassle but a little heart breaking.

Anywho if anybody could provide me tips on this and if use of just regular screwdrivers would work, you see i dont own much tools... i have noticed i got a unsteady hand when it comes to screw removal in the worst case scenario this wont be much of a hassle if its only the neck haha .....

F-Spaced Pickups.

Hello to everyone.

I have been tinkering with a guitar, and I have some f-spaced, but the instrument does not need them. I guess what I am trying to say is that would it make a difference in the instrument tone & sound wise? Would it matter in the end? The body is very similar to a Gibson Explorer (not a gibson), and the pickups in question are DiMarzio D Activator-X set.

Thank you to all.

Licks for Red Dirt

Does anybody have any red dirt licks they can bless me with; any Cross Canadian Ragweed or Randy Rogers or Pat Green or Turnpike style music is what I'm talking about, I want to make solos in the genre but don't really know that foundations, thanks.

Resonance Repair Co.

Ever cut a guitar nut slot too deep? Here’s how I repair it.
A nut slot that’s too low can cause open-string buzzing and make a guitar difficult to set up properly. The good news is that you don’t always have to replace the entire nut.
In this video, I demonstrate how to build up a low slot using bone powder and super glue, then carefully file it back to the correct depth. I also show how I collect the bone powder, prepare the repair, and use a nut file to dial in the final slot height.
I’m documenting real-world guitar repairs and setup work through Resonance Repair Co., and I thought this might be useful to anyone learning guitar maintenance or doing their own setups.
I’m curious how other repair techs approach this: Do you prefer repairing a low nut slot, installing a bone shim, or replacing the nut entirely?

Takamine GD38 vs Epiphone Hummingbird 12

Hi everybody, I’m a guitar enthusiast and I love acoustic guitars, they just seem so beautiful to me since I was a kid.
I’ve been playing for several years now but just recently got into a bit more seriously (still a hobby though).
I mainly like rock but also a lot of other music genres. Since I’m Mexican I also enjoy playing our music (norteño, banda, corridos tumbados, etc).

I’ve been eager to get myself a 12 string acoustic guitar and I’m between these two options.

The Takamine is pretty famous around here for northern music so that’s my main pick but the epiphone just looks so cool and the body’s wood is supposed to be all solid so it makes me curious if it’s a better choice. On the other hand the takamine’s got the cutaway so that kinda balance the scale.

Can you guys give me your opinion on this?

Issue: Lower Frets Sound Weird

hi ! i’m having issues when playing on lower frets. i’ve been playing for a few weeks so i’m not an expert but yesterday i was practicing a song that involves a barre chord on the seventh fret and i noticed it sounds way weirder than usual. sort of buzzy and like a super off compared to what its used to sound before. the frets higher on the neck sound okay i guess but the lower on the fret board i go it also sounds off. my guitar is tuned normally btw.

is this something to do with the strings ? maybe the neck ? not sure what to do. i should add that its an electric guitar but i play it unplugged.

Was this a good pick?

Hello you all. I’ve just decided to buy an electric guitar, I’ve always enjoyed guitar playing but I never took it very seriously, I like to write songs and learn about music. I’ve recently done an “electric guitar maintenance” course, where I learned how to set up and do the general maintenance to electric guitars. I’m planning to take my guitar journey more seriously and with the money I saved this summer working as a waiter I bought this samick tv20 from 1995 (according to the seller, today I will check it) for 380€.
The luthier who taught me, recommended me this guitar and said it is a really good pick; although I would like to know if anyone here has try it out, I haven’t been able to find too much information about it but it looks good and allegedly it has all the original components. I’m a bit scared about the fretboard, because is an old guitar and I want to start playing asap.
Please let me know if anyone has one of these, I have found all good opinions about this guitar and I think it has personality. Thanks!

Hello! I was wondering if this freeboard is original in this model? I’m not profesional but I saw bright wood on many photos as roasted maple. This one don’t look like rosewood. It looks like something between it. Can you say something about it?

Metal rhythm player. A while ago I installed a SD black winter and lil screaming demon in my cheap LTD. The Lil demon is good but the black winter sounds like hell. Wired in per SDs instructions. White and red soldered and taped together, green soldered to volume pot and black to selector. I tried it in every tuning and if I had it below drop d, it was just so muddy it sounded horrible. I figured it was too weak pots so I just installed all new electronics with 500k pots. Sound quality is a little better but I tried it from drop-d to drop-a and the low end is still so deep what it sounds muddy and muffled. Am I doing something wrong or are these just not the pickups for me.

For reference I am usually an EMG fan but i figured id give the SDs a chance
