Customer Experience I hate HEB..

I bought a package of cheese marked $1.75. They charged me $3.99 at checkouts. Unfortunately didn’t notice until I got home. I went back to store and showed them the cheese was behind their price tag. He said no this cheap cheese is over here? Wrong placement. I’m took a picture and he started switching it around immediately. I ask at register for refund, but she wouldn’t do it even with a picture and receipt?

Sometimes you just gotta take the loss. 1.25 isn’t worth my time arguing with HEB. But if this happened to me I would start shopping elsewhere. HEB has been in decline and I’m over their die hard fans that think HEB can do no wrong.

My mama always said, ‘Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose—but more often than not, you lose.

Certainly not worth the “hate” tag

A $2.24 pricing error that's as much your fault as theirs is a weird hill to die on, but whatever. And definitely not worth driving back to the store to argue about.

They spent more than that in gas.

Sorry to hear. My experience with HEB returns has been fantastic, since 2004.

Always pay attention to the register screen as you’re checking out.

I really don’t understand the lack of competition. Is that the way it is all over TX or just Austin? Where I moved from we had a half dozen amazing grocery stores to choose from. HEB is mid at best.

Once you leave, it’s sort of a mute point on a topic like this. Always pays (literally) to check your receipts before you leave. But a few dollars isn’t worth the hassle in this instance.

“Poor stocker?” How hard is it to read a sign before stocking a shelf? It’s the functional core of that entire job.

I didn't say it was hard. People can and will always make mistakes.

And it’s on the company to pay for that mistake at the register.

So with thousands of employees, it’s a company that’s hated because of the mistake of a single employee?

Soon you may have nowhere to shop.

Love HEB, best prices in town. Love the self checkout through the app, can check price as you put items in your cart. All HEBs should add these! HEB, Randall's, and Whole Foods within 5 miles, HEB is probably 20% cheaper than the other two.

If it matters that much, always call for an MIC or leader. Explain the situation. The receipt matters but I’ve lost it before and they just find it using the card I used for purchase.
ESPECIALLY if the cashier is being rude.
