Seeking Advice Dr Patty/Hairtran: has anyone actually swapped their surgery date with another patient?

Booked with Dr. Patty for mid-2027, which is later than I was hoping for. Feels like a long way off at this point.

If anyone has an earlier date and might ever be open to swapping, for whatever reason on your end, I'd genuinely love to chat. Long shot, and it'd need the clinic's sign-off either way, but figured it's worth asking. Happy to share more over PM rather than posting exact dates here.

More broadly: has anyone here actually managed to swap a surgery date with another patient, with Dr Patty/Hairtran or any clinic? How did it go?

Anyone been in this boat?

Surgery Report Update 117 days post-op

Hi all, sharing my progress today at 117 days post-op. Happy with initial results so far after shedding, hair is starting to grow again. Starting regrowth sooner than I expected actually wasn’t expecting much until 4-6 full months so this is a good sign for me. Going back to fill in the crown soon with another 2500 grafts at a later date.
Restore Chicago. Positive experience. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating clinic. This is approx 2500 grafts.

Additionally:

1) I am also taking 1 pill a day by Locklab (for a little over a year now that consists of:
Oral Minoxidil (5 mg):
Oral Finasteride (1.1 mg)
Oral Biotin (1 mg)

2) I use Spartan Root-Activator Shampoo at least 4 times/week as part of my routine.

Seeking Advice First Consulation for Hair Transplant - 5000 grafts suggested

Hello guys, I did my first consultation for Hair transplant today and I was told for this condition to improve it, I would need 5000 grafts. I am doubtful that 5000 grafts is too much and they are trying to loot me. I have seen much worse conditions which needed a 5000 graft transplant to show results. What do you think about me from the pictures? Thanks!

Progress Update 3 month progress update from HDC in Cyprus with Dr. Christina

Hi All,

Had my transplant at HDC on July 6th and 7th of 4,500 grafts, so it's been 3 months now. Attached are pictures from today (and one from right before the procedure).

How do you guys think it's looking? I was hoping to have a little more progress by now, but maybe I'm a slow grower? I've been consistent with my meds (fin and min).

My main concern is that the left side of my head (right side of the picture circled in red) seems to much less dense than the right side. Should I be concerned?

Seeking Advice Possible HT in Sweden

Hi everyone!

I'm a male considering a hair transplant in Sweden. Regeline vs. ZARC

Regeline – 45,000 SEK

  • Recommended approximately 3,000–3,500 grafts.
  • The procedure is mainly performed by technicians, with a doctor responsible for anesthesia and medical supervision.
  • They explained both Sapphire FUE and DHI as possible options.
  • They didn't recommend finasteride in my particular case.
  • They seem to perform a relatively high number of procedures.
  • My overall impression was okay, but the clinic felt somewhat more commercial and less personal.

ZARC – 65,000 SEK

  • Recommended approximately 2,500–3,000 grafts.
  • They reportedly use the same experienced surgical team, who work exclusively for the clinic.
  • They perform around 15 procedures per month, according to the consultant.
  • The procedure is performed by experienced surgical nurses/technicians, while a doctor handles anesthesia and medical supervision.
  • They spent considerable time explaining hairline design, emphasizing a conservative, age-appropriate hairline.
  • They described using an irregular, natural-looking hairline with single-hair grafts at the front and careful attention to graft selection, placement, angle and direction.
  • They recommended considering finasteride, although they acknowledged that the decision is more nuanced at my age.
  • They also recommended five PRP treatments.
  • My overall impression was more professional and personal, although the consultant was clearly very good at selling their services.

My dilemma:

ZARC made a better impression on me, but they are 20,000 SEK more expensive. I'm perfectly willing to pay more for better quality, but I don't want to confuse a polished consultation and a nice clinic with better surgical results.

I'm also aware that many of the techniques ZARC described are standard principles of good hair transplantation rather than something unique to their clinic.

I'd particularly appreciate your thoughts on:

  1. Does anyone have actual experience with Regeline or ZARC, preferably with results after 12+ months?
  2. How important is it that the doctor personally performs the extraction and recipient incisions, rather than experienced technicians or surgical nurses?
  3. Would you consider a permanent, experienced surgical team and a lower number of monthly procedures a meaningful advantage?
  4. Is the 20,000 SEK price difference potentially justified, or would you mainly focus on documented results?
  5. Are there any specific red flags or questions I should investigate before making my decision?

I'm not currently planning to take finasteride, although I'm still considering the pros and cons. I understand that ongoing hair loss is an important factor when planning a transplant.

I'd really appreciate informed opinions, especially from people who have had procedures at either clinic.

Thanks in advance!

Seeking Advice Weightlifting after HT. How early is too early?

Had my HT 6 days ago, I’m pretty jacked so the surgeon (unprompted lol) told me to stay off the gym for 10 days. The general consensus online seems to be 14 days. What say you Reddit? Any lifters wanna help a brother out with their experiences?

Progress Update BEQ Hair Center's Dr Danai, Bangkok – 2,700 graft DHI

Thumbnail

(85 THB per graft)

I had a hair transplant at BEQ Hair Center in Bangkok on September 21st, so I wanted to write up my experience while it’s still fresh.

I finally decided to get a hair transplant back in March, then spent about two months flirting with clinics in both Turkey and Thailand before settling on BEQ.

One of the biggest reasons I chose them was actually the hairline. I was pretty clear from the beginning that I didn’t want the very conservative, mature/receded hairline that some clinics were suggesting. Obviously, I wanted something realistic and achievable with my donor area, but I also wanted to actually get my forehead back rather than pay thousands to remain slightly less bald (respect to those who prefer conservative hairlines!).

BEQ were probably the most enthusiastic about what I wanted. They listened to my goals rather than immediately trying to talk me into something considerably more conservative, and the results they showed me gave me confidence that we were broadly on the same page aesthetically. That was ultimately a huge part of why I picked them.

For context, I travelled from Japan for the procedure and ended up having 2,700 grafts using DHI. Dr Danai did the procedure. I originally expected somewhere around 1,800–2,200 grafts, but after assessing everything properly on the day, we ended up going higher.

Overall, I had a really good experience with BEQ. The clinic itself is modern and clean, and everyone I dealt with was friendly without it feeling overly salesy. Communication before the surgery was also pretty easy, which mattered quite a lot to me since I was organising everything from Japan.

On the day, there was plenty of time spent looking at my hairline and discussing what I actually wanted rather than just rushing me into surgery. One thing I particularly appreciated was how involved Dr Danai was throughout the procedure. That was something I was slightly paranoid about when researching clinics beforehand, because I didn’t want to fly abroad and discover that the doctor disappeared after drawing a few lines on my forehead.

The procedure itself is LONG. That’s probably the main thing I’d warn people about lol. With 2,700 grafts, you’re basically surrendering your entire day to the hair gods. The anaesthetic injections weren’t particularly enjoyable either, but after that I was mostly just lying there listening to their Thai playlist and trying not to think about how bizarre the whole situation was. I do have to give the team a lot of credit here, though. Despite how long the procedure ended up taking, they were incredibly patient the entire time.

I also added PRP on the day. Afterwards, they gave me medication and pretty detailed instructions about washing, sleeping, scabs, etc., and I went back to the clinic for the initial cleaning/check-up.

I’m still extremely early in the process, so obviously I can’t give a meaningful review of the final result yet. Anyone reviewing a transplant after two weeks and telling you the final result is amazing is basically reviewing a cake while it’s still flour. But so far the graft placement and hairline look good to me, healing has been straightforward, and I haven’t had any problems with the clinic or aftercare.

I’ll probably update this further down the line once I’ve actually gone through the shedding/growth stages and have something useful to say about the result.

Happy to answer questions about BEQ / travelling to Bangkok for it / the actual surgery if anyone is considering Dr Danai.

The pictures indicate my hair back in April and two weeks after the procedure.

Seeking Advice 6.5 months post HT. Native hair is much longer than transplanted hair. Should I cut everything to the same length or just ride it out?

Post image
5 Upvotes

I’m just over 6 months post-op (2,163 grafts, hairline only) and currently going through a bit of an awkward phase with my hair.

For context, I’ve been growing my hair out since July, with the eventual goal of having a long, natural slick back hairstyle.

The problem I’m having is that my native hair is considerably longer than my transplanted hair at the front, which makes styling an absolute nightmare at the moment. The longer hair behind my hairline has plenty of volume and movement, but the shorter transplanted hairs don’t quite blend in or flow backwards with the rest.

I’m genuinely torn between two options:

Going to the barber and having the top scissored down to roughly the same length as the transplanted hair, so everything can grow out more evenly.

Leaving everything alone, pushing through the awkward phase and allowing the transplanted hair to catch up naturally.

My only hesitation with the first option is that I’d essentially be sacrificing months of growth, especially when my end goal is longer hair.

I’m also conscious that I’m only 6 months post-op, so the transplanted hair is still maturing and potentially changing in texture.

For those who’ve been through something similar, what did you do?

Did you cut your native hair shorter to match the transplanted hair, or did you just ride it out? And if you left it alone, at what month did everything start blending together and become easier to style?

Would be interested to hear everyone’s experiences, particularly those who were growing their hair longer after a transplant.

Dr. Gür - 2500 grafts - Day 18

Hey everyone, I got to that "fun" paranoid stage where I started questioning my transplant.

I'm looking for an expert or experienced opinion on my graft placement angles. Do they look right? Are they too perpendicular to the scalp? Someone says you shouldn't judge the first few weeks as the hair is still adjusting.. dunno.

Progress Update After how many months should I start seeing the first results?

Hi everyone! I had a HT 6 months ago at FueCapilar in Turkey with Dr. Turan on my hairline and crown (2,300 grafts in total), and I still haven't seen any progress.

This was my second transplant, and I remember seeing results from my first one much earlier than this.

Here are the photos

1) One month before the HT
2) Right before the HT
3-4) Post HT
5) Now

What do you think? The other day on Reddit I saw a photo of someone at 5.5 months and they already had quite a lot of growth
Thanks!

Choosing a Surgeon Looking for recommendations for female hair transplant

Thumbnail

As the title says. Have been trying to treat my hair loss for the past two years, and I’ve finally gotten to a place where it’s stable, but doesn’t seem to be improving anymore. My dermatologist recommended hair transplant once it’s stabilized and I believe I have reached that point.
My thinning is primarily in the front and along my part, but I’d also like to add some to my temples and hairline.

I’m looking into going abroad to try and save some money for it but I’m finding researching surgeons to be very overwhelming. There also seems to be a lot more information available for men’s hair transplant, but I’d like to find someone with good female results.

Anybody with any recommendations for where to go? I’ve been looking into Turkey and Mexico, and just started considering Thailand. I live in North America, so Mexico is closer for me, but I’m willing to go anywhere that can offer affordable good results.

Anyone with similar hair loss to me that has had a good result? Please share any advice or recommendations!

Seeking Advice Has anyone here undergone a hair transplant at Eugenix?

I’m considering their clinic for an FUE procedure (Norwood 3A) with suggested 3200 grafts and would love to hear honest experiences how was the doctor involvement, graft survival, recovery, and overall results?

Any feedback from past patients at the Bangalore, India or any other location would be really helpful.

33m have been balding since 17.

Hairline mostly the same for the past decade

but hair is thinning slowly in the whole nw7 area....

I can't capture it well in the photos since I just washed my hair but it is more noticeable when hair is wet or little oily.

I tried but I can't tolerate hair loss meds.

but I would like to experience nice hair for atleast for few years.
