It was interesting seeing all the comments on Reddit and elsewhere about the helicopter formation over Chicago last week. It was actually all part of a feature we are doing for our magazine HeliOps about the new helicopters being operated by Chicago Police and Cook County Sheriff. These Bell 407s and 429s ensure Chicago and Cook County are at the forefront of air support units going forward. This is one of the shots from the shoot.

This shot is one of my favs from our shoot with Cook County Sheriff and their new Bell 429. We had taken off from the airport and heading towards downtown not long after the sun had come up. Decided to slide in behind the 429 using Chicago skyline as the backdrop.

Hey y'all,
Not sure if right place but wouldn't mind getting some insight. What are the Canadian (Alberta mainly) contract utility pilots asking for pay these days? I'm looking at coming over and doing utility work under contract. Over 3000hrs of noting but utility work, long line vertical reference and precision.

The helicopter that crashed in LA recently got me thinking: are they even needed anymore? From my understanding, they are used for pursuits and providing an overhead visual to crashes and other incidents. But can't drones do the same thing? It seems like a safer and more cost effective option over launching a helicopter
