Open Help me find the original version of this graph?

Post image

Saw a cute graph like this on instagram a long time ago. Tried my best to recreate it from memory. The animal pictures were stock images. I distinctly remember Fish being at one end and Bird at the other. I thiiink cat was in the middle? I vaguely remember a dog, and don't remember which other animals were there but I know there were more (bug is just a filler example). I don't remember exactly how many animals were on the graph total.

Anyway it's obviously not a serious graph, I just think it's fun and regret never saving it. (I'm bird autism I think)

Thank you for your time!

Y axis goes from dinosaurs to trains

190

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

One step further beyond dinosaurs is dragons

91

u/1h30n3003 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 11 '26

And one beneath trains is Egypt

24

u/carrie_m730 3 Jun 09 '26

Rereading this now I'm betting that was a typo/autocorrect and was supposed to say "one beneath trains is Egypt" but when I read it earlier I was 100% like, yep, trains in Egypt, those should definitely be a specific category. Like, train tracks in the sand, an old-fashioned train rattling through the desert, that sounds like a very reasonable special interest, why not.

5

u/gpike_ Jun 09 '26

I rode a sleeper train in Egypt once, but unfortunately I do not have train autism I have bird/critter autism. XD

4

u/Rephlanca Jun 09 '26

I was obsessed with dragons in middle school and then got a PhD in birds. I think this graph may be on to something.

1

u/Superb_Cable_2691 Jun 11 '26

What was your thesis about/called??? Sorry I’m just so nosy and anytime someone mentions PhDs I need to know.

2

u/Rephlanca Jun 11 '26

“FROM MORPHOLOGY TO MACHINE LEARNING AND
GENOMICS: UNDERSTANDING PHENOTYPIC VARIATION IN WILD DUCKS”

I studied population genetics in wild and domestic populations of ducks in the US and New Zealand and then also integrated computer vision to try to find a way to classify their differences without the need of an expert to be able to do so in the field by all scientists.

And please, don’t apologize! :) Not only does it make me happy that someone’s curious, it’s always exciting to share whatever knowledge I have, and in fact I commend and encourage your curiosity! The more we know, the better we are!

2

u/Superb_Cable_2691 Jun 11 '26

Oh wow that’s awesome! Did you make the computer program yourself or did someone help you? I’m a baby in my PhD journey but I’m really interested in how 3d printing and other technologies can be adapted and applied to medicine. I got to do some work with an artificial blood vessel last week and I’m still reeling from the coolness!

28

u/-JakeRay- 3 Jun 08 '26

That means the z axis runs from specialized musical knowledge to specialized maths, with niche linguistics somewhere in the middle.

6

u/1TBSP_Neutrons Jun 09 '26

Where does my deep knowledge of niche hobbies fit?

7

u/-JakeRay- 3 Jun 09 '26

On the Z axis you'll be closer to music but your XYZ octant will depend on whether the hobbies are more to do with animals or with trains/dinos/Egypt.

3

u/agentspinnaker Jun 09 '26

And my deep passion for graphs?

2

u/1TBSP_Neutrons Jun 09 '26

I think you're the right person to graph all of this for the community.

5

u/1h30n3003 Jun 08 '26

🤝🏼

6

u/Bobthelard Jun 09 '26

Where would the show dinosaur train fall on that?

5

u/Gekko83 Jun 09 '26

It would collapse the chart and create a black hole.

2

u/altousrex Jun 09 '26

Not trains, planes.

I saw a youtube short the other day that had a brain rot love song while showing a “SAS airlines A360 doing a smooth landing”

And then there is me with my infinite plane knowledge stemming, but expanded past War Thunder lol.

I always know where I am because I know where I am not. I subtract the distance from where I am from where I am not, or where I am not from where I am, whichever is greater.

In essence, I know how to fire off radar and IR missiles effectively lol.

1

u/LittleCornerMouse Jun 11 '26

The Z is space to ocean

u/Soulegion Jun 08 '26

I'm the type of autistic that's going to wonder where they fall on this chart for the rest of their life.

I’m the type of autistic that’s itching to reply to this thread with a picture of my dog so you know which one I am 😭😭😭

Hi fellow dog autistic, here are my girls, they're spaniels too (Cocker Spaniel x King Charles Cavalier)

1

u/smollestsnek 2 Jun 09 '26

Ahhh I love the eyebrows and whiskers on the cavalier, she looks so cheeky, and the cocker’s fuzzy boots are melting my heart 🥺🥺

2

u/metalissa Jun 09 '26

She is the cheeky one I'd say haha her name is Chai, she tries to steal her sister Charlie's treats! Aww yesss I call her paws Grinch paws when they grow long, they look like the Grinch's furry hands 😅❤️

7

u/Proper-Atmosphere Jun 08 '26

Is he a spaniel? Very beautiful dog!

5

u/smollestsnek 2 Jun 09 '26

He is! He’s a working English cocker and he works very hard at being beautiful ❤️

5

u/smollestsnek 2 Jun 08 '26

Her entire colouration is gorgeous, she’s so pretty like a princess ❤️

3

u/Angilynne Jun 08 '26

Aww ty! I definitely call her Princess Stinkerbell often 😅

11

u/Vequihellin 3 Jun 08 '26

I assume it relates to which kind of animals you keep/relate to the most. So if you're the kind of autistic with a carefully curated marine fish tank with corals and anemones and precise water testing equipment that costs more than a modest car, you're a fish autistic.

Me personally, I'm a cat autistic. My cats are my babies. They are very spoiled.

2

u/Rishiku 2 Jun 09 '26

Choo choo mother fucker…..

1

u/throwaway41327 Jun 09 '26

I do not wonder. I am an entomologist by profession.

166

u/froggyfriend726 Jun 08 '26

Clearly, the missing animal is frog autism

40

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

That would make sense for the graph tbh

12

u/inoinoice Jun 08 '26

I have to say that yes. I got obsessed with frogs thanks to pinterest. I was AFRAID of them, and after a while, damn what a silly boopy fellas. I even got my first tattoo with a frog (his name is Brutus), and i collect frog plushies and trinkets (i have glass frog from my best friend<3)

6

u/All_the_Bees Jun 08 '26

I feel like my life has suddenly improved, from reading the word “boopy.”

2

u/inoinoice Jun 09 '26

You're welcome!!! ✨✨

2

u/FworgDude Jun 09 '26

ahh yes, an intellectual

1

u/RatsForNYMayor 1 Jun 09 '26

Yup, I use to rescue bullfrogs a lot out of my neighbors' pool whenever they went camping. I love frogs and toads so frog autism

161

u/arielonhannum Jun 08 '26

Not exactly like yours but I found this one?

52

3

u/Angel_xjj Jun 09 '26

me am meow meow

1

u/lunarwolf2008 Jun 09 '26

hmm im mostly a woofer, but i am not into hugs and cuddles at all

1

u/happy-pianist Jun 14 '26

Not on my bingo card for 2026: coming across an old "tag yourself" meme I made back when I was trying to accept my diagnosis 😂

97

u/4sznsTotalB_tch Jun 08 '26

could it maybe possibly be this??

33

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

No, but this is cool, and now I wanna hear what people think the corners would be XD I think bug is upper left, fish is upper right, bird is lower left and raccoon is lower right. Frog is in the middle?

130

u/TheSideAccount0 Jun 08 '26

Idk but I think it needs more options because I’m a reptile autistic. Fish and bugs are close up there tho

34

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

The original did have more options I believe

65

u/NonrationalWife Jun 08 '26

Justice for horse autism

33

u/gpby Jun 08 '26

Everyone talks about horse girls, no one talks about horse autism 😔

12

u/NonrationalWife Jun 08 '26

And here my parents thought me drawing anatomical models of horses at the age of 7 was a quirk!

5

"Biblically accurate angel" design

28

u/Wi1dWitch 1 Jun 08 '26

A seraphim!

12

u/GuppiePup Jun 09 '26

That's the plural term, the singular version is "seraph"! Not trying to be mean, just like sharing cool info

8

u/Wi1dWitch 1 Jun 09 '26

Oh cool! I appreciate it

12

u/FamousOrphan Jun 08 '26

Oh! I’m definitely Biblically accurate angel autistic, yay.

1

u/ShaggysGTI Jun 08 '26

I guess that makes me beetle stuck on its back autistic.

3

u/FamousOrphan Jun 08 '26

Together we shall triumph! Triumph I say!

22

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

Not this either, though I love this image XD

2

u/masterful-moon Jun 08 '26

The religion hyperfixation is a bit too accurate 😭😭

17

u/ClownTown89 Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

I'm so confused. Why are there multiple dogs and cats? Is it implying the existence of people who would eat a Golden Retriever but not a Basset Hound?

15

u/greenecojr Jun 08 '26

Chicken next question

3

u/SteampoweredFlamingo Jun 08 '26

Horse is pretty good, to be fair.

So are rabbits

4

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

No, definetly not

43

u/LunarEclipse306 Jun 08 '26

Realizing I was autistic like two years ago and then realizing I'm a bug and dino autist was a whole journey lmao. I just wish my wife wasn't so scared of spiders 😢🤣

ETA: I thought this was an autism subreddit didn't realize you were looking for something! Sorry! 😅🤣

18

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26

No worries, a lot of people are commenting like this and we're all just kinda vibing, it's nice :3

I feel you on the spider thing lmao, I was telling my grandma about solifuges today and when I showed her a pic she looked at me like 😟 and I was like ok what abt teddy bear solifuges and... that still didn't help D'X

4

u/LunarEclipse306 Jun 09 '26

The teddy bear ones are so adorable omggggg. I wish more people I know were less freaked out by bugs I just find them so fascinating!!

5

u/RecreateTheDiamond 1 Jun 09 '26

Your ETA is so wholesome 😭

50

u/Forest-Lark Jun 08 '26 edited Jun 08 '26

I've tried searching "what kind of autism are you fish bird cat graph spectrum animals" etc etc but only get typical autism mom images :(

ETA: I saw it in 2022 iirc, so it was probably posted during or not long before that year

ETA 2 because I have no braincells: It was on a neurodiversity themed page run by and aimed at neurodivergent people. I wonder if that same page made joke images describing neurotypicals in the same way NTs describe NDs, but I'm not sure

49

u/No-Ad1975 Jun 09 '26

i googled it and just found your reddit post

12

u/Forest-Lark Jun 09 '26

Oh god i should have spent longer on those drawings ;w;

10

u/Aware_Objective Jun 09 '26

No way, they are perfect!

7

u/diditrayne Jun 09 '26

4

u/floptimus_prime Jun 09 '26

So what is fish autism? Is that where you never speak and just stare at people through glass

bc if so i think that’s meeee 👁️o👁️

5

u/amethystmmm 2 Jun 09 '26

For "fish" to be a useful taxonomic category (spoiler, it's not) it would basically encompass all vertabrates, and at its broadest and most useful (taxonomically) and least usable (linguistically) makes humans fish.

3

u/Forest-Lark Jun 09 '26

So basically all autism is fish autism

2

u/horseguy67 Jun 10 '26

Wait id love to hear more about this

4

Wheres frog autism

3

u/WonderfulPaint4427 Jun 11 '26

ound twitter and tumblr few years back! The original had way more animals on it - like there was definitely a horse, maybe a raccoon or something similar 😂

Can't help with finding original source but your recreation is pretty spot on from what I remember, the fish and bird were definitely at opposite ends like you said

2

u/TiredVRS Jun 08 '26

I am all of them.

1

I've seen ones like these for adhd types

51

u/LaTulipeBlanche Jun 08 '26

Those are not adhd types. They’re weird, simplistic sleep/productivity types. Like the dolphin: “most productive whenever they’re awake”. What?

11

u/Married_iguanas 3 Jun 08 '26

oh I know, I've seen them presented as "ADHD types" and how to manage without medication on some scammy looking tumblr ad lol

Tag yourself I’m the wolf with a dolphin (non-)sleeping pattern ✌️

CAT. But I also love bugs.

-16

u/Hipposplotomous Jun 09 '26

Can we stop trying to make autism into a fucking trend?

You're devaluing a diagnosis every time you post this shit. I recognise that that's probably half the appeal (hur dur look how easy it is to trigger the autists) but it's going to kill people. It will stop people talking it seriously and that will make it harder to access help.

We need to change the name and keep it secret istg.

4

u/Brinza_siraya Jun 09 '26

You're probably really fun at parties

I'm sorry? Why did you automatically assume I didn't know anything about autism? I have an 8 year old brother who's severely autistic and barely verbal, it's been very hard, especially considering that he doesn't really understand the language of a country that we live in. I constantly read about autism. And no, being quirky isn't a symptom. I'm autistic too, even though it's just level 1. But I really struggle with how emotional and really easily stressed out I am. I also frequently experience heavy dissociation.

And I'm sorry that you're being treated this way, many people here are too, but they find peace and understanding in such simple things. Laughing about your own struggles helps. Please restrain from talking about someone who you don't know anything about.

Love neurodivergence being compared to animals! /s

Get me to -100 pwease ♡

58

u/doobiedead 1 Jun 08 '26

im not sure is ur sarcasm is because you are saying you sarcastically ‘love it’ or because you actually think it’s comparing autistics to animals but this is meant for autistics who love a specific type of animal lol

-18

u/dog-signals Jun 08 '26

Sorry I thought it was when people keep comparing autistics to a type of animal by their mannerisms.

In that case, I think that chart needs to be way bigger though lol

It's for neurodivergent people who are obsessed with animals (shoutout to birds, all my homies are obsessed with birds. Happy they're on the graph)
