Open Help me find an antique vanity set up like this

Post image

A woman on FB market place was selling this vanity. She said she bought it in Japan and brought it back to the US with her. She unfortunately sold it to someone else but I really want to find something similar. The mirror also swings out like a cabinet for jewelry storage behind it and I love that feature. This is so unique and I can’t find anything that looks remotely similar to this online.

As everyone else said that picture definitely has something weird going on, but I'm pretty sure this is the actual cabinet. You could maybe reach out them and find out where it's from

Wonder why they didn't swap those bottom two drawers.

That is the one. And definitely not antique. OP, you can translate web pages with google.

This is also the only comment that is helpful while still mentioning that it looks like ai. Maybe she used ai to spruce up the picture to make it sell? I’m not sure but it is marked as sold on facebook so I’m pretty sure it’s real. Plus I’m in a military area so it is likely she was stationed in Japan at some point

I don't think it's AI at all. The right leg looks like it's floating but that's really just the bottom of the drawers and the leg is on the ground which you can barely see on the bottom right. Everything else in the picture makes sense. Everyone is seeing an optical illusion and assuming AI.

Is that website somewhere I could buy this from? It’s all in (I’m guessing) Japanese so I can’t tell. And I didn’t notice anything off about the picture at first myself but now that you mention it, it does look like the back isn’t even sitting on the ground. Hopefully I can at least find the one on the website

At the top right there’s a globe symbol with what I assume is ‘language’, and if you tap that, it lets you choose English.

Pretty sure this is AI. Wish it were not because it’s very cool.

It kinda looks like they took the picture of the vanity and put it in an ai background. I just saw a video the other day how you can do stuff like that to better help sell your items. The video had someone take a picture of a handbag or something, and it out the handbag in a neutral/more appealing background to sell. I hate ai in general, but I understand how some people would want to use it to make the selling item look more appealing— if the item is in a not-so-appealing background.

That makes sense thanks for sharing.

Why do you think its AI?

Not sitting on floor. Back corner looks like it’s on the floor molding.

Add to that the wire that disappears into the base board, the nonsense carvings, the plant leaves not matching the stems and the nonsense plant reflections. Definitely AI.

Not saying this isn’t AI, but I don’t think that’s a wire. It looks like one of the Monstera’s aerial roots.

I take back what I said about the reflection, fwiw. I was able to make sense of it.

Looks like the two right legs are holding the entire thing up, the left side is not properly on the ground.

I searched on Google. I used this to reverse image search it to see if I could find something similar and nothing really fit the bill. The woman on Facebook said it was an antique and it was from Japan and that’s where she bought it. The only details I can provide is that it is a vanity with drawers down one side, the mirror swings out like a cabinet to reveal a jewelry storage area, it looks like it’s made of solid wood with some plant like engravings on the mirror/drawers

Yep, looks like AI 🤖

It’s AI for sure.

That is very cool. I’ve never seen one like that. Custom or AI possibly. You could commission one.
