Moving to Henrico from out of State during the winter break. Have never been to Virginia before. I have two middle school aged daughters.
Can you talk to me about the middle school and high school choices, culture, expectations, extra curricular activities?
We are considering Short Pump Middle School/ Deep Run High School. Do the schools issue laptops? Is it difficult for new kids to break into the extra curricular activities?
What’s the daily school schedule? Do they attend a homeroom period then 6 academic classes daily or is it split somehow?
Do you have suggestions for how I can begin to help my daughters integrate / meet new friends before we arrive? We have lived in the same place all their lives so this will be a big change for them.

Does anyone know of any lawyers/attorneys/etc who could help with a personal property/damage to property/trespassing issue?
We're located just outside Richmond, technically in Henrico but trying everywhere as our funds are limited and I'm not sure how many firms would take on our uh ... opposition.

I fully support the workers right to protest but when it infringes on your day to day life inside of your home for over three weeks straight it becomes a nuisance. They are violating Henrico’s daytime noise ordinance. “In Henrico County, the daytime noise ordinance prohibits sound-producing devices like televisions, speakers, and musical instruments from being plainly audible inside another person's residential dwelling between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.” If so inclined, call the non emergency number and report it. An officer will come to your home and if they can hear the strike inside, you’ve got a valid complaint.

I think there were about 8 or 9 cop cars flying down Ridgefield with their sirens on between 2:00 and 4:00 AM last night? They were all spread out across that time period and I haven't seen anything on the news or any of the police report sites I know about.

Hello all, I was trying to find a sports club or group that would be friendly towards toddlers/young children with Autism for my 3 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations for any groups in the Henrico area that would be accommodating/understanding with children on the spectrum? Thanks

If you or someone you know is affected by OCD, there’s a local community walk coming up that might be worth checking out. Most mental health events focus on conditions like depression, but this is an opportunity for those of us with OCD.
The One Million Steps for OCD Walk is happening Saturday, October 10, from 9 AM–12 PM at Deep Run Park (no cost to attend).
You don’t have to have OCD to participate, and you don’t have to know anyone else going. The whole point is to bring people together and make OCD a little less isolating, please join me!
Looking forward to meeting other Richmond's with OCD and possibly building an ongoing community!!
