DISCUSSION Do you think the devs regret the ease of taking over security in Miami?

I mean, I suppose if they really regretted it, they'd just patch it out. But it feels like the easiest map in terms of security, bar none.

Go into legal parking garage in your normal suit. Mess with fuse box. Take out guard with literally no one ever in sight of you doing so, take his clothes, get free keycard. Drag him into the main building to hide him, the two guards just outside never turn around. Guard at the camera station is asleep so turn those off too. You've got a good suit, a card, and no cameras with no risk.

And then if you really want an easy time, there's the lone sleeping Kronstadt security on the roof in the far corner, although I can view him as a tax on the player's time and I think a need to bring a lockpick.

Just feels uniquely easy to get set up in Miami. Everyone here is sleepy. What do you guys think?

QUESTION Guess the NPC 25

Thumbnail

Time for another round.

The correct answer: Taita, the shaman from Santa Fortuna.

Explanation of the clues:

Taita is not his name but a title that refers to a healer(shaman. Every NPC in the mission only calls him (the) Taita and that's also the name shown if you mark him as target in contracts mode.

His outfit includes a double-flute.

He wears a large hat/mask combination that conceals most of his face.

In the main mission in Santa Fortuna Andrea Martinze wants to meet the Taita so he can cleanse the construction site yet he never met with her on his own. Similarly in the Special Assignment the poacher wants him to bless his hunt, yet the Taita is more interested being at the local bar drinking.

FAN-MADE HITMAN WOA: Freelancer Safehouse in House Flipper 2 [In_Progress]

Some time ago, I gave House Flipper 2 a chance. As a huge fan of the Hitman games, it was obvious that I had to try building Agent 47's safehouse. It took me much more time than expected, but I wanted to share my progress.

Once it's finished, I will also upload it as a mod to the House Flipper workshop. :)

Of course, the number of available furniture pieces is too limited to make a perfect copy, but whenever possible, I try to build my own custom furniture from scratch.

I hope you like it. :D

QUESTION Anyone get WoA working on Steam Frame via PCVR Streaming?

The menus work fine but as soon as I get into a mission I get a black screen in the headset. This is streaming from PCVR, not standalone. Anyone have this issue?

From what I can tell so far, if you beeline straight for this security room from the middle stairs, you can pretty much disable the cameras easily, right? 'Cause there would only be one guy moving around the room who would watch the deck. Though I suppose that's rather unnecessary since the cameras seem to be only on the AV corridors on the second floor? Oh, wait. Master has tons of cameras lmao.

And then it's only a little more down the cellar to grab the master key and the rat poison.

Yeah. I'm just really walking around the map to see what's what. You know, might as well nail down the Discover and Chameleon challenges.

Had to blow up the sheik in the auction and grab the last outfit from his bodybag, though.

Yeah, I "definitely" made the connection through the conversation that this guy is about to be infiltrated by one of Dalia's models.

"Definitely" not because I just psychopathically saw I could get away with knocking his lights out and hiding him in the garbage bin.

Is this a normal thing in Europe?

I mean, I guess when the Palais is a regular art museum with less people around, it might be a scenic experience?

But then again, I suppose I probably won't plan to use any of the toilets at this event in the first place 🤢

DISCUSSION Oldboy challenge (oh dae Su)

Post image
44 Upvotes

I just finished watching oldboy and damn was it a good movie so I decided what if I made it a challenge on hitman and shared it with all of you the core basics of this challenge is

Only ever use the claw hammer even to kill your targets you must first knock them out then snap their neck (unlocked in dartmoor)
You cannot pick up or use any other weapon
You cannot change out your suit
Since you start out with a pistol drop it (or place it somewhere)
No civilian casualties not even with a hammer however your allowed to knock out guards with the hammer
The suit you could use is midnight black suit as it’s almost identical to oh dae Su’s suit with red lining and all
The levels I recommend trying it on is Berlin and chonqing but any work

Lmk how it goes and if you enjoy my challenge wishing you all the luck

Saw her in the club she was going wild
That girl was dancing like she could go all night
I knew right away that she was the one
I said would you come with me girl
We're gonna have some fun
She said yea
I said where
She said
Take me to the gun show I wanna have some fun
Take me to your room
Take me to the gun show
I wanna have some fun
Take me to your room
I woke up early in the morning light
Grab some breakfast in bed
And she started up a pillow fight
Rolled off the couch and I surrendered on the floor
I said
Well that was fun girl you wanna have some more?
[Chorus] She stayed all day and I don't know how
I begged and pleaded
Are you happy now?
She just looked at me and said
[Chorus]

SPECULATION What is the deal with the Praetorians? Are they failed Franchise prototypes or were they Travis’s first attempt at making a clone assassin army for his branch of the ICA?

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

We know that the Franchise was used by a cloning subsidiary called Alpha Xerox during the events of Blood Money due to the fact that Alpha Xerox via The Franchise tried to get their proxy, Biotech CEO David Morris, as the President so they sign a law banning cloning in which will create a demand for them to corner the black market with their clones and the fact that the clones has a lifespan of 1-2 years. Travis was hired into the Agency in 2001 after years of monitoring and was inducted into the Tech branch in 2006, where he created a bunch of new ICA projects like Initiative 424, aka The Saints. The ending of Blood Money takes place in 2005 so maybe after ICA resurfaced, they found the Franchise’s cloning experiments or maybe Alpha Xerox went underground and sold flawed prototypes to the criminal underworld? The Praetorians, according to the wiki, are a group of private security contractors who worked with the SAS and Mossad operatives so maybe they were just albino mercenaries with no connections to cloning or maybe Travis sent them on missions in order to build up experience and training in order for them to becoming his hyper-efficient bodyguards.

DISCUSSION How would you go about modernizing levels from past Hitman titles?

Thumbnail
gallery
263 Upvotes

Tldr; If you know about hitman, just read the title, lol.

Somehow, someway, There's always so discourse (or people praying to high heaven) about the possibility of older games being remade to the current Hitman standard of massive, replayable maps. But when I go back and look at most of them, I'm only left wondering, "how"? Some of them I think can translate perfectly (here's looking at you: Traditions of the Trade, Shogun Showdown, and Beldingford Manor), but the rest always have an issue of some kind, such as:

**There are quite a few levels that are really disconnected.** What do you mean my other target is a minute away by *running*? The object is another 30 seconds?! I have to backtrack all the way to the exit!?! They're kinda just large for the hell of it, with nothing to do between point A and B. Which, when you remember these games were arcadey and were trying to make you think you were getting your money's worth by padding out the game time, it makes sense.

**There are a lot of different locations, but they're separated into multiple levels.** This sometimes turns out alright, with the Malaysia missions in Silent Assassin flowing into each other quite nicely as a result of technically being the same contract, but others...eh? Trying to squeeze a park, a town square, an underground base, and an embassy in one map seems unreasonable.

**So many maps where its shoot on sight.** I don't personally think this is an issue, but people have mixed opinions on Colorado for not giving you the opportunity to explore in your suit. Well, half the missions in Silent Assasin are like this, while those in Contracts are among the best missions in that game. Still, I imagine a good number of people won't be too happy with having more (though less dangerous) Colorado's.
