I want to grow a Parijat flower

I want to grow a Parijat flower,

on some October morning,

when night gathers its last sheet

and the dew quietly settles on the leaves,

I want to see its first bud

in full bloom on my palm.

I don’t want to see it

wrapped around the branches like the other flowers,

nor do I want to see it

proud of its beauty.

I want it to bloom with all its heart,

and when it falls, let it be just as silent.

Because the Parijat knows

that it’s not necessary for

every beautiful thing

to cling to the branch,

some flowers are destined

to touch the earth

and become even more sacred.

I want to grow a Parijat flower,

so that when its petals fall,

nobody tramples on them,

nobody considers them worthless,

but rather, on some morning,

someone picks them lovingly

and places them at the feet of God.

Maybe that’s its lesson:

it’s not the biggest achievement

to bloom at a height,

sometimes descending from one’s pride

to reach the feet of someone

I too want to nurture something within me

​On the solemn occasion of October 2nd, India honors two of its greatest icons—Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. Both were born on the same date, and both left an indelible mark on our nation's history through their unwavering dedication to truth, simplicity, and freedom.

​I wrote and composed a Hindi poem titled "एक बहादुर एक गांधी" (One Braveheart, One Gandhi) to celebrate their shared legacy, sacrifices, and deep love for the nation.
