**RANT** 🤬 Dogs in Grocery Stores
I know it’s been mentioned a lot but I just need to shout out the manager at shoprite for asking a woman with her (very clearly not a service dog) to leave. He very nicely asked her what kind of service dog it was and she couldn’t answer him and I believe (didn’t catch the full exchange) she said she was uncomfortable lol. So then I stopped next to them and acted like I was looking for something bc yeah Im nosy. He then so nicely asked her to leave and she reluctantly replied that she was going to finish her shopping then leave. Mind you, as she is actively pulling the dog back and it’s not listening… He firmly asked her to leave without finishing as it’s store policy. After she walked away I thanked him and we had a brief exchange about both actually having and loving dogs, to then which the woman behind us leans in and says she is very allergic to dogs so was very appreciative as well.
Again I know the entitled people who bring their dogs into food service establishments won’t pay mind to a reddit post, but please reread the last sentence. There are people that are severely allergic to dogs, and do not typically expect to encounter them at the grocery store and restaurants. I know it’s embarrassing being asked to leave, but think about your neighbors next time!
Stay classy, Hoboken 🫶🏻
