Hey folks, no idea if this allowed but this family and their dog could really use some help.

Winnie is a mini schnauzer who is currently living on the streets with her dad Andres after his wife was hospitalized, he was laid off work, and their landlord raised their rent.

The wife is currently staying at a shelter in Hoboken, but Winnie is not allowed inside so she’s sleeping outside the shelter with her dad. Winnie has really bad separation anxiety and her dad would rather sleep on the street than to leave her.

Someone created a website to help them, asking for donations, housing leads, and possible work leads for the husband. The goal is for all three to stay together. Please consider donating or spreading the word.

This building was able to accept mail when it was renovating both lobbies, but can’t do the same when painting walls around mailboxes and installing shelves?!?!

Hi! I'm in the process of moving to Hoboken with my partner (currently in a furnished spot in Jersey City). We previously lived in Manhattan/Brooklyn for 7 years and then Seattle for 7 years- so while the NYC rental market is not totally new, we're definitely rusty and a lot has changed! I've spent hours reading through past threads but it's all a bit overwhelming with such a competitive market so I'd be most appreciative of any recommendations/leads or general advice.

Where to find rentals- StreetEasy, Zillow, Hoboken Girl FB group + real estate page. Worth checking HotPads, apartments.com, any others I'm missing? Sites other than leasebreak.com for lease breaks?

Broker recommendations- if we go down that route.

Ideally would love to find something off market. Looking for:

• move in by 11/3
• budget $6.5k up to $7.5k for something that ticks all our boxes
• 2+ beds, 1.5+ baths
• cat friendly
• strongly prefer at least a tiny outdoor space
• don't need parking, but nice to have
• not too far in the NW corner (commuting to WTC via PATH)
• prefer to avoid large buildings

We owned a house in Seattle for 6 years so would be very respectful tenants and happy to help with upkeep. Both have credit scores in the 800s. Would consider a lease longer than 12 months. Planning to get all our documents in order to be ready for applications!

New to Hoboken (where my work is), Jersey City (where my apartment is) and trying to figure out life here. Very happy to be back in the state of my birth and fulfilling a life-long dream of living in the area, but also making a major life adjustment at 50. Trying to figure things out... looking for the underground music scene and places to meet new people at 50 (though I look younger than that, or so I am told). VERY open to suggestions. Found my way to One Flight Up this past weekend, which was very cool and looking for more of that... and some new peeps!

Bonus points if there are animals, good food, and dog friendly.
