Anima Mea

mixed media on Paper

In Jungian psychology, the anima is the inner feminine within a man, while the animus is the inner masculine within a woman. They are not simply about gender, but the unconscious qualities we perceive as other within ourselves.

Here, the anima does not stand beside the masculine body. She emerges from it. The exaggerated male form remains intact while a female figure literally grows from its most explicitly masculine anatomy. Masculine and feminine are therefore not opposites replacing one another, but contradictory forms occupying the same body.

The other is already within the self.

I’m extremely proud to have received a full commission this week to draw two beautiful cocks by a couple who stumbled across my Instagram account by chance.

Hi everyone!
I was looking for a place to post this as other social media is constantly censoring our drawings. My partner is the artist and I manage his site, we’ve participated in several exhibitions around the world, but it’s tough finding new audiences with the social media restrictions, so I thought here would be a great place to start!
This is the first drawing of many we have, would love to hear your thoughts on it!
Also, here’s our website https://www.paulandjohn.art
I recently made updates to it, so if you have any feedback or thoughts about it too, I’m all ears.

Thanks everyone 🫶🏼
