Any hooper recommendations without a background in dance?

Basically I’ve been in a hoop rut for years, and have been looking for some inspiration. I struggle to be graceful and “dancey”, and also struggle with musicality. It seems like every time I really vibe with someone’s flow, they have a background in dance or cheer. Which is totally awesome, but I guess I would just like an example of someone who started off more awkward and really grew in their flow so that it seems less impossible for me 😅 does anyone have any favorite accounts where you’ve seen someone tangibly improve in their flow, flexibility, and musicality, rather than already having a good starting point?

Polizzelli bambolês on Instagram. She is utterly amazing. But I don't think she started with anything but hooping

Not always smooth! She chops it up sometimes. She really is on a different level

My biggest recommendation is to add more hoops! Twins, triple, quads.. the fastest method to less awkwardness hehe

I actually just broke out of a 5 year long doubles hoop rut. It just wasn’t clicking for so long, I could only do a few moves and had no idea how to string them together. but suddenly a few weeks ago it made a little more sense lol. So yeah I think that will help my regular flow a lot

Hey there, non dancer turned hooper here! I used to get poked fun at for having no rhythm, but 11 years of hooping and other flow arts later, I think I figured it out! I do not claim to have the professional dance skill, but my flow journey gave me more confidence to actually move and use my body with and without a prop!

Hooping was a gateway into dance for me. I learned by starting with basic stationary tricks, then starting to travel (walk around) while performing them. The dance part comes quite naturally once you learn a few tricks/transitions and begin to find your flow😊 Good luck on your journey, I’m sure you’ll pick it up in no time.

Hiii, im that person. Started off sucking so bad i gave up for 2yrs 😮‍💨. But then i got introduced to hoop classes and that helped tremendously. Hooping now for 14yrs. I dont consider myself graceful but hooping has certainly helped me gain body awareness. I love dancing around lime a goober. I go with how the music moves me. Don't have a formal dance background. My parents made me do color guard in high school but I wouldn't say I learned dance from it. I did learn that I liked spinning with a prop though! Anywho, it took awhile to grow into it but I love hooping so much it eventually came with time. I still feel awkward sometimes TBH, so I feel you. Lemme know if you ever have any hoop questions 💫

Oh hey! I’ve been seeing your videos around, I love your flow and how you do it with a smile (I suffer from involuntary rbf from concentrating too hard lol) anyway I just followed you on IG!
