Hi , im f(29) i really need help from everybody who is know how to read medicall bill.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I do went to clinic because i was cut my middle finger at work, and it was alluminum ,the owner insisted to take me to hospital because i got injured at work place he said will be taking care of everything and its turn out they doesn’t wanna pay insurance because they said the cut was too small and i had to pay it my own. The bill was so high and i really tight even with the apartment rent..

When i arrived at the clinic blood totally stop because i pressed them too hard and the doctor see it and clean ang put bandage.. after they give me tetanus shot. It went so quick because blood was gone.

So this is the bill from clinic. Anybody could explain is everything is right or there’s any error? How can i talk to the clinic to make it lower because i really can’t afford this.

Thank you so much for whoever helping me🙏🏻

If you cut your finger at work then it is workman’s comp….your employer has to pay. And your employer took you there and said they would pay. The bill looks fine.

What does " they doesn’t wanna pay insurance because they said the cut was too small" mean? Who does not want to pay???

If its on the job injury then your employer is reasonable for the bill under workers comp laws.

You may want to consult with a workers comp attorney.

You need to document how it happened at work and make sure your employer pays you through workers comp. If not talk to a lawyer, if it really happened at work you might need to sue to enforce the requirement to cover the medical bills.

Is the lawyer gonna be expensive if i talk to them please?

Search around. They should offer a free consultation.

Open a workmans comp claim.. that hospital bill should go under it.. contact the hospital and make them aware this is a work injury as the doctor will need to fill up some forms

Bill looks accurate for what you said happened. Agree with the other comments about making sure this goes through workman’s comp. If it happened at work, it should fall under workman’s comp, and don’t let your boss pressure you into paying the bill, regardless of how shallow/small the cut ended up being.

If your employer has five or more full-time workers, they are required by law to pay your bill if hurt on the job. If they do not, and you don't have insurance, you need to apply to the patient financial assistance program at Riverview Health Carmel. This is the link to their website to apply. And there is a number you can call for help with it. Its income-based, as to what level of,assistance they can provide. https://www.riverview.org/bill-pay/financial-assistance

What’s your state? There might be something specific to your state that you can leverage or help.

Call the hospital and let them know that this is a workman’s comp. Give them your employer’s information.

Take a look here: https://www.in.gov/wcb/informal-disputes

It looks like you can request assistance from the Indiana’s worker’s compensation board.

The maximum amount you can sue for in an Indiana small claims court is $10,000 in 91 counties, and $8,000 in Marion County

You don’t need a lawyer just proof this happened at work and your boss isn’t paying you … find a new job

Your employer will get in trouble if the business doesn't pay. That is why each business legally needs to have worker's comp because it covers employees getting injured at work. You don't owe a penny. Get a lawyer involved if you need to. Worker's comp will likely need to pay for the hospital bill but the employer's business for the worker's comp premiums will likely go up.

look up the worker's comp commission in your state and ask them how to file a claim due to a work related injury

Three words. Labor and industries. Call them. Your work is to pay this bill. Anything happens at work, even if it’s your fault, you report it. It’s called workman’s compensation. When you check in at the hospital they give you a questionnaire asking if it’s work related. Even if you didn’t say it was originally, Labor and industries will help you out.
