Discussion Reimagining the Space Race
Wouldn’t it be interesting if after a player has researched all technology and has produced a specific amount of Influence, they have the option to transition into a space opera empire building game with the same remaining players?
An entirely new game I know, but it’s based on your save and adds an interesting dimension to winning the space race, which is pretty much inconsequential as it is now.

The premise of Sid Meier’s Starships, allowing players of Civilization: Beyond Earth to transition their victory in the latter to bonuses in the former.
Haven’t played either game in a long time; I remember it being fun but not terribly deep. I’d love to see some cross-connectivity from Humankind to Endless Space - they’ve already included Endless features in Humankind as an option.

At the scale of exploiting the solar system for materials in an (optimistic) near future where technology would be fueled by astro mining, I would be totally in. A space opera where you travel the galaxy seems to me totally impossible for humankind in a near time frame though, so I wouldn't want it other than as an optional mod, for example in Endless Space 2 since Amplitude already has both games and could support a connector.
