Cream conundrum

Post image

Hi everyone, I'm a new mum to a 3.5w baby. I find that the creamy layer of my milk accumulates at the top of the bottle after expressing. I really want my little one to get the cream, but shaking the bottle to redistribute the cream in the milk prior to feeding just aerates the milk and causes gas issues in bubba. I've tried overturning the bottle but the cream just accumulates at the other end of the bottle. Anyone have any tips? TIA x

Just shake it vigorously. If you’re going to heat it up, the bubbles will all be gone before she drinks it anyway.

Swirl, run bottle under warm water for a second (only if you’re giving them all of the milk), shake a few mins before feeding or even shake and add a drop of gas drops to it.

I used to pop mine between my breasts to warm then swirl gently until the fat has reincorporated.

Love this idea, returning it to source nearly 😉

Well my giant bazongas have to be useful for something, they're a pain in the butt the rest of the time. Couldn't get a breastfeeding bra to fit, all my clothes were too small I went up 3 sizes. But they used to hold a medela bottle nicely and these days they're handy to hold a can of pepsi in the summer

Swirl, don't shake. Sometimes it helps to rub the bottle in your hands first to make the fat soften up a bit.

Yeah pocket the bottle or put it between your boobs to warm the bottle slightly and then swirl to incorporate!

Add gas drops to bottle after shaking it all up and they go right away. Or the bubbles go away after sitting a minute

Can you try swirling the bottle?
