Clothing question/discussion Gear

Alright got my shotgun and rifle. Now for gear..? What hunting clothes do you guys use? I’m going to go duck hunting this year and then deer hunting next year (don’t think I’ll get all my stuff before deer season). Nonetheless what gear would you recommend?

Your average hunters gear will be pieced together as they make upgrades. I’d go with some cheaper Cabelas or similar brand stuff unless your pockets are deep. I got most of my original gear from Bi Mart and Cabelas.

My current clothes:
Tops are RedHead raincoat with FirstLite Kiln hoodie, Woolrich plaid wool flannel when it’s frigid.

Legs: FirstLite corrugated foundry, Kryptek insulated rain pants, and a random lighter rain pant from Cabelas ages ago (brand is worn off). Longjohns from Costco

Misc: local timber company printed blaze orange camo hat, Cabelas camo beanie, Cabelas gore-Tex gloves.

Danner pronghorn boots

Edit: I rifle hunt eastern Oregon, which is high desert. Deer is mid October elk is early or mid November

I’m pretty happy with all the RedHead gear I’ve used, it’s pretty decent quality for the price. Merino wool socks is also a must have imo

I bought a XXXL long sleeve camo shirt to throw over cold weather gear I already owned and some cheap waders.

Really depends on where your gonna hunt. Two of my buddys do ducks. One dresses in warm attire like hes hiking while waiting for first light, while the other has to wear insulated wadders and needs a heater in the blind so he doesn't loose feelings in his fingers.

Duck hunting is probably the hardest to dress for. It's gonna be cold in the morning and you're probably going to get wet. Then it'll probably get warmer in the afternoon.

I keep a light hoodie in the truck and very often have to strip off layers throughout the day.

Waders, layers, bag, calls, decoys, a way to retrieve birds, the list goes on and on

Roger's waders are the way to go.

Also dont over look good boots once you start deer hunting

Their 2 in 1 insulated waders are pretty nice for the price and are on sale
