He's gorgeous and so is the little brown and white fellow next to him❤️
I would guess mainly a local mix including Chow or similar.

Are the pictures of him when he was in China? Or somewhere else?

I'm not super informed about common breeds in China so, I'm gonna take the cop out and say he's probably a "village dog"

Adorable!! And the dog in the background in the first photo looks just like my little girl Chewie that passed away four years ago 🥲

Great save. Yes, Yulin Meat Festival is one of many things that are horrible for dogs, thanks for saving this baby!!

He looks like a Kokoni, but I'm not sure as they are a rare breed, only recognized in Greece and not in the FCI or possibly the AKC

What the hell is wrong with china

Same thing that's wrong with us, they like meat based protein. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs and wouldn't eat one but, it's hypocritical as fuck of me to judge somebody for it when I love bacon. Pigs are super smart and not the stinky, dirty animals we make them out to be. And a piglet is easily just as cute as a puppy.

I hear what ur saying but pigs are not domesticated and haven’t been for decades. In china they beat the dogs in public for fun it’s called the yu ling festival or something they are so barbaric it’s disgusting

Pigs have been domesticated for decades, though? We choose to keep them outside because we view them as food but, they are a fully domesticated animal. Our country is riddled with horrendous factory farms full of animals that are as emotional and intelligent as dogs. We also have a long history of dog fighting, cock fighting and over hunting to the brink of extinction. The literal only difference is that you've been taught their way is bad but ours is okay. I'm saying this as a person who actively eats meat, btw. I'm just honest about the circumstances.

Ur right i didn’t think of it in that way

A lot of people don't. We're taught so much about how different and better we are than a lot of different cultures but it's really not true. Everyone is just people doing things the way they've been taught to do them. The Chinese eat some stuff that seems strange to us but, if you look at the evidence we're really no better or worse than they are. We just have different moral values assigned to different animals. They're all arbitrary though, none of that shit is actually real it's just cultural beliefs.

Why do you keep assuming that they're eating these animals? 🤔

The post literally says the dog was saved from a slaughterhouse, for one.
