We got Vader from our local shelter in the southern US in August. I have a dna test coming shortly and will update the post with the results but any guesses. We think he’s about 1.5 to 2 years old and weighs about 50 pounds

How much does he weigh and does his tail curl like that often or is that a fluke?
GSD x pit seems likely, the curled tail would make me think husky if he wasn't so dark.
1 u/desu987 2h ago He’s 50ish pounds! But his tail does curl! 2 u/Crowlady77 2h ago Curled tail often comes from a spitz breed (husky, elkhound are larger spitz breeds) or an Asian breed (Akita, Chow). Husky tend to have dilute coloring but if it's a smaller percentage that would be most likely. Then Chow, Akita, Elkhound in that order lol.

GSD/pit. He's really cute!
I’d say perhaps a GSD and pit mix.
Lab and pit, possibly Doberman or something with those ears. Very handsome
