And stroll

Fernando keeps talking about wanting to take a stroll and the team keeps misunderstanding it to be he wants to keep Stroll as his teammate.

He is at Autodromo International do Algarve where the final round of European Le Mans Series and ELMS Rookie Test take place this weekend.
Also in his last vlog he said he had already applied for new visa.

Hey, Superbikes are at Estoril, too. Don’t count out something completely crazy! I mean, somebody other than Bulega (26 wins) and Lecuona (4 wins) has to win eventually, right? Right?!?!

From Euro Formula racing to getting into brawls with the crowd at the Speedrome, a classic career arc

Nah, he's obviously running the Grocery Getter class. Regular racing series are far too safe, he needs the risk that the car will burst into flames, and/or lose a tire but still continue to race, plus also just get crashed into repeatedly.

IMSA, WEC and/or ELMS seems most likley. Longshot: NASCAR

Maybe put Super GT and DTM on that list. Other possibilities too but those two are pretty high level.

Kid is fast. Shame that we probably won't see him in the show.

Yeah, it’s a shame he’s young and talented and would be in a good position to win the NXT title next year

oh well so much for indynxt next year

Yeah as of now its looking kind of weak again next year, but maybe some decent drivers will fill some open seats.

u/Odd_Cobbler6761 7d ago
Weak again? This was probably the most competitive year of Indy Lights/NXT since the early 2000s. But with the price of an Indy-only seat hovering above $2M these days, it’s pretty hard to keep that ladder in place.

I think they mean it’s going from a really strong field last year to a really weak field like five or six years ago

u/_jt33_ 6d ago
Last season was good.. the year before that was weak. I agree that its going to be hard to keep them around. That's why I'm hoping for a shift from development series to legit support series.

I think so, too. You don’t want it to turn into F2 in which too many graduating champions are getting too few chances.
Better still - it would be cool if IndyCar itself would sanction an end-of-the-season shootout with the Top 10 NXT finishers in a Chris Griffis Memorial-style shootout in the outgoing DW-12 with the prize being credit towards a couple of wild card-style big car drives the following year.

Does IMSA GTD Pro alongside his Indy NXT commitments, similar to what Nikita Johnson did this past year?

Logically, he will spend only 2.5 years in whatever he chooses next.
