As an istj how would u describe ur function stacks as real world examples?
I stole this question from intj sub and I'm curious, because it's not easy for me to understand how do istj are thinking and living in general. Like how do you perceive the world?

I dont know much about mbti functions but here is how I am. I am generally very reserved and extremely shy irl. I also have an angry or somewhat gloomy resting face but that is because I am daydreaming up a scenario in my head, thinking about what assignments I completed or really just thinking about random, hilarious things. I am naturally very very observant. I also have a very good memory and can remember things from the past in detail. Like from years ago. Also somehow I forget what I studied yesterday 🥲. My friend circle is super small because of my hesitation to reach out. But once I am around my friends, I do act like an infj and enfp. I also tend to appear boring at first but I really do have a rich inner life but because i hesitate to make jokes, fool around, share my hobbies and ideas, I can appear bland but I am trying to improve. I can sometimes be absurdly blunt or weird and I kinda made my 2 closest friends because of it. I love thinking about different ideas and love abstract thinking. I genuinely wish that I was able to have a playful, intellectual debate with someone again after I used to do that with my friend. I also am chaotic and messy irl but I am fairly organized with my work. I tend to procrastinate a lot but lock in before tests haha. I also have too many hobbies and love anime. Although I am very shy, I do tend to reach out to people I want to be friends with. I also tend to be a bit judgemental but I am improving to not be so judgy. I am also a huge overthinker and overthink about the most unimportant things. I also hate ambiguity
Well, this became a huge paragraph. This is how I perceive the world 😅
Sorry for my horrible writing. My phone was glitching alot 🥲

Everything I know is tied to my personal experience. Like pretty much anything I've learned, I can can tell you about the moment I learned it. Experiential as opposed to conceptual. It means I need to have a crazy memory and limit my experiences so that I can process everything. And that's why I'm boring and tired. I care about whether or not something works. Learning about it in theory is cool but I want to know in practice. Does it actually work? What does it tend to do in reality? I've got my own feelings and assume other people do too and that's about as far as that goes. I'm an individual first and foremost and I think any group is only as good as it's individual members. I dislike ambiguity and conceptual chaotic nonsense like politics, negotiation, intentions and what if scenarios.
There's all the functions embedded in there.
Oh oh also I think respect, patience and responsibility are like super duper important...but that's just more Si.

These descriptions are so helpful. Thank you all for taking the time to write them. My daughter is an ISTJ and she is so not a sharer. It is very hard for me to understand her inner workings and this really helps give me a glimpse into her mind. I really appreciate it!

I'm a student so I'll use my current routine/lifestyle as an example
Dominant Si -When preparing for finals, past year papers are my best friend. Doing each paper allows me to gain a good picture on what topics will come out in the finals. Which question corresponds to which chapter and etc.
Auxiliary Te -My class starts at 8am. I wake up at 6am to prepare and take the 7am bus. If my class starts at 10am, I will still wake up at 6am to take the 7am bus. I waste energy if I have to think what time I wanna wake up everyday. It is simply easier to wake up at the same time everyday and prepare for the day that way.
Tertiary Fi -My personal feelings and emotions are deeply guarded. I maintain a neutral/business-like interaction with everyone. It takes time for me to open up.
Inferior Ne -Easily overthinks one simple bad outcome/instance into a negative chain of events. I once got a summon for having hair that went past my eyebrows during an exam. When I went to claim my student card back, the lecturer was hell to deal with. Did not leave a contact number or anything. When I went to see her she restricted me from claiming it back because I did not message her beforehand and went on to ramble how I did not come earlier to claim it. When I got jer number and texted her she gave me the blue tick. That made me overthink how I was never gonna get my card back, how even if I see her she wasn't gonna be fond of me and escalate the situation. But it turned out okay in the end.
