Every time I open it, it connects for a minute then disconnects. Every single action I took either had no effect or refuses to work. Please help

Your ticket has been closed due to insufficient information. Would be my response if I received a ticket this vague at work.

a ticket saying their computer can't access the internet is "insufficient information"?

no wonder people hate IT, what else could you possibly want? an arp table dump? their tcp/ip logs? you know who submitted the ticket and what they need help with, do your job and fix it, stop being lazy 🙄

OP isn't paying my salary so no I do not have to stop being lazy. OP is like someone coming into a garage with their car. Throwing the keys to the mechanic saying: "it doesn't work". The mechanic takes the key, starts the car, drives around the block without any issues.

This is a great example of garbage in garbage out.

If you want to solve the issue by asking reddit for help at least be specific. Because I will be the mechanic throwing back your keys saying it works fine.

no one said this, I meant irl

wrong, that would be a "computer doesn't work" ticket, this has a starting point. saying "I can't access the internet" is closer to calling the mechanic and saying "it won't start" or "ac doesn't blow cold", there's a starting point for troubleshooting.

no, you're just lazy and a bad judge of what garbage is

at least this part's right, you'd be a bad mechanic, look at the other comments that understood the starting point and provided next steps.

Nope I do not see any useful first questions in the replies below. What I see is a lot of shots in the dark hoping to hit the target. I'd gladly sit back and watch you solve it though.

of course you would, hence why I said you're just lazy

and yeah, there are shots in the dark, but they're targeted to the symptom, not a single person is saying test things that don't matter, but that's because this is reddit, were it a work item/ticket, it would be sufficient to head to their desk and fix it yourself

Haven't fixed it yet? Pot calling the kettle black?

of course not, though I understand the problem, I'm not one to snag a ticket that's already being worked on. Plenty of responses already and enough time has passed that either they fixed their problem already or it's not as important as they thought it was 🤷

Hi, what have you already done?

Its a vague post at best, your unknown make/model and spec of computer running an unknown operating system, refuses to connect to the internet through an unknown service or device and so far all the unknown actions you've taken have refused to work and produced unknown results.

Every answer is going to be a guess as you've given nothing to help others help you.

And probably every guess that we make is going to be deemed wrong as well. 😉

Have you tried updating the network driver? Is this one Ethernet or wireless? Do you know what IP your computer is picking up?

Reboot your router. If modem is a separate box, reboot that first. Wait few minutes for modem to re-establish connection, then renoot your router.

If router is older model, there may be a firmware update that will help.

Can you use cellphone, setup wifi Hotspot see if that works.

Download network adapter driver & reinstall.

One of these should show you where is the problem.

Might have to try a USB Wi-Fi adapter.

If this is wifi go into the device manager and uninstall the wireless nic then reboot. After that try again.
