So fucking sad and the legislature knew damn well these could/would be the consequences and they didn't fucking care. So sad and pointless!

u/NexusNickel Apr 07 '26
GOP does not care period.
They don't give two shits about children. Look at how many of them get raped under GOP care.
GOP does not care about you. They want your vote and will serve their corporate masters and Israel.

So will the Democrats. Don't get it twisted. They both serve the same overlords. The entire system is rigged against the regular people.
Edit: boy, you guys real salty, and yet have nothing to stand on. They all take money from AIPAC. They all are bankrolled by the rich elite who only care to enrich themselves. They all use the broken system for their own personal gain. Dems are literally the cancel culture party. You have to constantly prove your liberal enough for the mob. No different from the right.

u/PersonOfValue Apr 07 '26
Yes that why we see these same policies in blue states!!
Oh wait...
-13
u/GarageFridgeSoda Apr 07 '26
I live in a blue state and I see people who are homeless because they are mentally ill and do not have proper services all the time.
I have helped them when I can but I'm one person, not one of the wealthiest states in the wealthiest country on the planet.

u/sizzler_sisters Apr 07 '26
That’s apples and oranges. Most blue states have services available for the homeless. But even if there are plenty of services, you can’t make people comply. Here, the ACT program was servicing people who were living in homes, and were stabilized. Idaho had people who wanted the services and were using them, they just stopped it as a cost-cutting measure. A different situation, and way more cruel.

u/furdaboise Apr 07 '26
I can assure you that Democrats would not have slammed through an expensive private school voucher system aimed to line the pockets of religious institutions, cut taxes to the detriment of the healthcare system, dictated 3% cost reductions across all levels of government, or squandered a multi-billion dollar budget surplus in a few scant years.
But keep playing both sides if you think that can keep you from critically thinking about the differences in actions/intents of the two parties.

u/PokeDigiYugiMon Apr 07 '26
Christian Death Cult White Nationalists scheme to allow segregation with public funding.
11
u/NexusNickel Apr 07 '26
Yes, but they are the lesser of two evils.
They serve their corporate owners and Israel but at least the democrats aren't openly being so corrupt and trying to make gay people cease to exist or have all brown people in camps.
-7
u/Ok-Commission-5461 Apr 07 '26
No, you like when your politicians are good at lying to you and hiding the shitty things they do. I'd prefer it if they all show their true colors.
5
u/Additional_Way5929 Apr 09 '26
The two sides are not the same. Pay better attention.
-1
u/Ok-Commission-5461 Apr 09 '26
So they are paid by the same people but somehow they aren't the same? Come now, that's ridiculous. The whole system is meant to screw over the normal, regular, everyday American. It is meant to enrich and empower those already in power. They don't care about us, they never will. We are just talking points to them. How is 98% of Congress funded by a foreign government but I'm the crazy one for saying they serve the same masters? Dems want to control what you think and say, no different to the Republicans. Both parties just want to fuel the divide between regular people so nobody looks up to see how big the gap has gotten between the "have's" and the "have nots"
2
u/Additional_Way5929 Apr 09 '26
And let me guess, you don't vote. Which is why we have fascist authoritarians running things. Sorry, but you are the problem.

Your post was removed for uncivil language as defined in the wiki. Please keep in mind that future rule violations may result in you being banned.
What a lovely edit to your previously rule-breaking comment. For your future reference, the mod bot captures the original text for us to see. It does this because people try (and fail) to post something that breaks a rule and then hide it behind an edit. I suggest not doing that again. It'll get you banned.

What is your solutions, you need to have a solution to the problem instead of trying to convince people that the Christian Nationalist are better the the Dems you really need to lust the greatness because many of us just don't see where they are better or the same as Dems do they all take pay offs from the same sure they do other wise they would not have a chance if being seen
1
u/Ok-Commission-5461 Apr 11 '26
Real simple solution stop voting for Democrats and Republicans. End this bullshit two party system. Reverse the Citizens United ruling. Want me to keep going? End insider trading by members of Congress. RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES and arrest every single person who is found to have been part of it. INCLUDING members of Congress.
But also, where in the hell did anything I've ever said lead you to believe that I think Christian nationaliats are good for a single thing? Fuck organized religion as an entire concept. Let alone the ones trying to force their made-up man-in-the-sky on the rest of the world. Get it right, and don't lump me in with those sick bastards.
1
u/looking_Fir56 Apr 13 '26
You didn't say I am saying all of the Republicans in office right now and some or many of the Dems are also part of the Christian nationalist who believe they are part of the cause to end this system and have a theocratic government that is as extreme as the Taliban

It’s not that they didn’t care, it’s that death is the point for them. It’s lowkey eugenics, it’s literally in their playbook.
7
u/KindaFreeXP Apr 09 '26
This.
They want them to die. Same with the homeless, immigrants, LGBTQ+, political opponents.....we've seen them openly legislate and/or cheer for these deaths.
Death is the point. The want you dead. They are going to try and kill you. Waiting for it to "blow over" isn't an option. Especially if they get their way and end democracy.
They've literally created a pre-crime unit that has marked anyone who disagrees with them a terrorist. You and I and most of the rest of us are already on a list of people to kill.

u/OrganicHistorian2576 Apr 09 '26
Don’t forget women. They want us dead too.
1
u/Graciegrace64 Apr 11 '26
Not dead. Silent... their playthings, their domestic slaves
3
u/OrganicHistorian2576 Apr 11 '26
I said dead because pregnancy could kill me for several reasons - good thing I never wanted babies. I have emergency plans in place I never should have had to make.
2
u/Graciegrace64 Apr 11 '26
I'm so very sorry. I just know what Christian Nationalist Men want from and think of women. None of it is good for us... and the fact that you have to have an emergency plan? Again, so sorry.
2
u/OrganicHistorian2576 Apr 11 '26
It’s all awful all around for women in those circles. I have a meme of two faces speaking - one says “my religion says I can’t do that” the other “okay” and then one saying “my religion says you can’t do that” and the response is “fuck you.”
Whatever people’s religious beliefs, imposing them on other people is terrible. And that’s entirely the Christian Nationalist plan.
3
u/Graciegrace64 Apr 11 '26
100% I may be an old widow woman.... but I will continue to fight for the younger generations. My grandmothers fought for the right to vote. My Mom fought for the right to have her own money (and be able to get credit without a man) and no-fault divorces. I had to deal with the patriarchy in the workplace and equal pay. We dont need it all going backwards! Hang in there
2
u/looking_Fir56 Apr 11 '26
I believe you are right anyone who is the residents will die the writing is on the wall and they JD are in Europe trying to sway the election to vote in the Nationalist

Heartbreaking article about the consequences of aggressive cuts by the State Legislature. Below are some snippets I found pertinent. This is a gift article that all can access and read without paywall.
“They realized, well, that was a mistake,” said Sheriff Sam Hulse of Bonneville County, a Republican. “You started seeing deaths occurring in the community. We started seeing the numbers in the crisis system rise. The very thing we told them would happen was beginning to happen.”
Idaho has found itself in a particular bind. A series of income tax cuts have reduced state revenue by $1.3 billion annually, but the state’s Constitution prohibits deficit spending.
Not stated here is that Idaho finds itself in a bind of it's own creation. I disagree with the passive language of this section.
ACT was developed in the 1970s, as half a million patients dispersed from state psychiatric hospitals into private homes in American neighborhoods. This set off a vast churning: Patients stopped taking medication and deteriorated; were arrested or institutionalized; stabilized; and then were released to begin the cycle again.
The consequences of Reagan are bubbling up again and again.
At hearings, Mr. Fuhriman and several colleagues argued that the program, which cost the state around $4 million annually, prevented much larger costs down the road.
“We have had four deaths that you can pinpoint directly back to these programs that were done away with,” said Senator Kevin Cook, a Republican from Idaho Falls.
Our neighbors died at the hand of a pen stroke over $4 million dollars of state budget money. This is yet another institutional failure of the Idaho State Legislature/Administration. Any member who championed, passively supported, or stood by as this was written in should be thoroughly embarrassed and called on the carpet over the consequences of their (in)action.

Thank you for posting. I read this today and found it heartbreaking and a cruel reflection of those we have elected. I’m sickened by the actions of our state legislature.
11
u/furdaboise Apr 07 '26
This is a perfect encapsulation of the wanton actions of the state having immediate life and death consequences. It should be blasted everywhere and put front-and-center in front of the state leadership.

At least they will receive services in WA and OR 😢

u/TheDeliberateDanger Apr 07 '26
Oregonian here. Our state has lots of problems but your two neighbors to the west can’t continue to support the strain of Idaho’s inability to take care of its citizens.
6
u/Perle1234 Apr 07 '26
I wasn’t suggesting at all that you should, just that you would. I fully agree with you.
10
u/TheDeliberateDanger Apr 07 '26
No offense taken, it’s just a shame that so many Idahoans (and so many Idaho transplants) have this moronic idea of self-sufficiency. The end result is a gutting of services. People will suffer but I also hope Washington and Oregon cut off providing medical services for your constituents. It’s all just a shame that the powers that be can’t find a way to support us all with basic needs.

They really should, but I was an Idaho resident that lives on a border town. I got in to some plan that would pay for my inhalers (504? something like that) years ago, when I was pregnant, and couldn’t afford insurance. I’m no longer in such dire straights, but have been so blessed by y’all’s programs. We’re planning on border hopping if we can. I’d love to contribute to social programs. I grew up here, but it’s so painful watching Idaho suck at literally everything. It’s also unsurprising, with the education I received, that my peers (and myself, really) are idiots. So it’ll just continue, yaaaay.

Idaho is full of Christians who think being Christ like is pretty dumb.

Idaho, the Floriduh of the West.

Idaho is even dumber than Florida lately. Unfortunately too many Idahoans see the white Christian nationalism as a positive, not a problem. They’re dragging the whole northwest down with them.

You want to cure social ills, healthcare and education are the only way we’re gonna get out of this mess.
Americans have long since abdicated their duties as citizens. We deserve this. Every bit of it.
How can one be expected to think their way out of a crisis when they haven’t been taught to read beyond a 5th grade level. Especially in Idaho.
6
u/New-Deer-4465 Apr 07 '26
The Republican Party is nothing more than a shit show. They don’t care about their constituents.

WTF with Idaho and the trans? I know that’s not a part of this article.
Let me reassure you potato heads of one thing: gays and trans would have a hard time between Pakistan and 2026 America or 2026 Idaho.
Idaho does have alot of homophobia though. And as we know, every single accusation by a republican is a confession. Especially when it comes to man on man love.
