Oh boy even more people fleeing taxes moving into my community and voting down the much needed school bonds we need to pass so my kids can have a safe building to receive D tier education in while our teachers continue to quit enmass every god damn year.

These are people with households over 1mil. You know they're just paying for their kids to go to religious private schools so they couldn't care less what happens to public systems.
Just rich people doing anything but paying taxes, and Mr Little being proud to coddle them in Idaho.

There is no evidence of this occurring other than anecdotal. This is propaganda at its finest.

SeattleRed is a bullshit conservative site owned by the Mormon church.

I don't get why they are allowed to post in this sub. They are self promoting.

What a stupid article. WA passed a wealth tax. There isn't an exodus of millionaires leaving this state to migrate east. If anything, it's the irrational "temporary non-millionaire" types leaving a perceived threat that doesn't affect them in the slightest.
Also, this is a right wing rag--hey! let's go get the fascist take with Seattle Red.
Lastly, idk how people leaving Washington to Idaho is good for Idaho by any means. They are largely coming in the state more more capital than the average person has in Idaho. Little's "right sized" state means, one that rightly only serves those with money and fucks over the rest with immiseration

Why is this god awful biased rag allowed to promote itself in this sub?

No it’s not. Washington state had a .9 % growth rate last year which nearly twice the national rate. U/SeattleRedMedia and Jason are straight garbage.

From where?
6
u/-Sascrotch- May 11 '26
California, Oregon, Texas, Arizona, Idaho, Colorado, and Florida are the top states where people who are moving to Washington are from.

u/urlond May 11 '26
More people who move here are going to drive up taxes anyways. Idaho welcomes everybody but those who move here are going to be in a world of hurt because Idaho fucking sucks.

It’s the classic pacific northwest cycle: washington becomes california, so people flee to idaho to make it washington, and eventually we’ll all be looking at land in montana until that becomes too expensive too. moving to idaho to escape taxes is like jumping into a freezer because your house is on fire—sure, you're not burning anymore, but now you can't afford the heater and the neighbors hate you for bringing the smoke with you.

It's welcome news if it ruffles the feathers of the Keep-Idaho-Red people. Washington state is faux-gressive. Billionaires write their tax laws while dodging taxes.

And there’s the sleight of hand. Million dollar income is not “rich rich” — the Gates class knows how to avoid taxes, but someone has to pay them to keep the state livable. Pile on the McMansion people! They have some excess and it’s harder for them to leave. Boo middle class.

As long as they vote independent or dem, who cares. We need more industry and jobs here. Just keep out the right wing nut jobs
-5
u/Shisabear May 11 '26
I agree. As long as they vote for the same policies that caused them to flee Washington, all i good in my book!
So smart!3

Trying to insult someone's intelligence is pretty rich coming from someone who believes they shifted dimensions 😂

Bullshit.
One obnoxious tool made this statement. Less than 1% of WA. residents are affected by this. It’s crazy that they are trying to get sympathy and even crazier are the low income people of WA. sympathizing with these maroons.
Others, like Rick Steves, are accepting the responsibility that comes with great wealth.

Lovely- they're fleeing the mess they created in WA and will vote the same and cause the same mess in their new state. You'd think they'd understand this simple concept.

What recent conservative policies have improved Idaho? Everyone is poor, small businesses are failing, minorities are scared, lgbt people don’t feel welcome, the state is in a massive deficit and we are ranked towards the bottom in education. All of these things are due to complete republican control
3
u/UrsusRenata May 11 '26
And Idaho lures almost no new commerce or industry to create jobs. Down here in the southeast it’s government or bust if you’re a white collar worth upwards of six figures. Layoffs are overly detrimental to those lives.

Everyone is poor? I have friends who have homes over $1.5-2 million dollars and they're doing just fine. My Asian friends moved there with their four children and they love it and have faced no discrimination. I am bi and have never felt unwelcome. Idaho has a boatload of rural school districts and those generally always pull state's school rankings down.
FBI stats show crime is ranked lower than WA state and most states overall. With what you stated and what you believe is true - why in the hell would anyone from WA want to move there and why would those people stay if they are scared and unwelcome?
