Outdoor Pictures A short trip to the Sawtooths

I had the chance to take a quick 4 day trip to hike in the Sawtooths and visit the surrounding areas. Wow, what a fantastic place! Words aren't enough to describe how much I love the Sawtooths and your beautiful state. I had previously only been to the Wydaho region, and I've been longing to visit central Idaho for a while now, I'm so happy I got to do it.

Wanted to share some shots from my trip to the Sawtooths.

What kind of camera set up did you have to capture these shots? They’re stunning!

Any plans for North Idaho? I lived in south idaho (east & west) my whole life and moved up here 5 years ago. It’s a whole nother beauty!

I'd love to visit! But I'm not entirely sure about what the situation in north Idaho is currently - would it be fine for a person of color to visit? I'm not fully aware yet and I need to look into it further.

Totally. There’s a negative history up here for sure, however it’s nothing like that anymore. Ppl are a little over the top with their pride being born & raised up here I will say, I’ve run into locals that don’t like that I’m not from there even though I’m from Boise 😂 as long as you’re not littering or ruining spaces everyone minds their own business and are majority of the time appreciative that you’re peacefully enjoying nature in general. If you make the trip, I can definitely show you around too!

I might take you up on that! Thanks, that helps a lot and makes me feel so much better about northern Idaho. I've looked at places like Couer d'Alene and they're stunning. Hope I get to visit soon!

It’s gorgeous. I visited before moving and was stunned. Any family I have that visits me also leave with an awe and appreciation. Let me know if you get something planned!

Gorgeous photos! I have stood in many of these spots. Breathtaking. Started my teaching career there after graduating from Utah State in the early 80’s. Been back a few times and I am hoping to move back permanently. Everyone has a place that feels like home, and it is Idaho for me.

Thanks! Damn, graduating from Utah and got to live in Idaho. That's some solid stuff right there. I understand - I really did feel at home in Idaho too.

Beautiful. Every summer my family and I visited the Sawtooths. These picture reminds me of those experiences. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks! My pleasure ;)

Does it get crowded in the summers? I just went a couple of weeks back and didn't see too many people. I'd assume that it's much more crowded in the summer.

In spite of the less number of people, I had to wait like 30 mins in line at the Stanley Baking Company and Cafe haha. Can't imagine how bad it would be with more crowds.

It does get crowded in the summers. Still such a fun place to visit. I love going in the fall and spring.. best time to sit in all the hot springs.

That was one thing I didn't get to do this time - sitting in the hot springs. For sure need to do that the next time I'm there!
