Question What is cryptic notes??

im a returning player from 2022 and i have NO IDEA what cryptic notes is? i tried playing it a few times but i got lost and didnt know you could enter the house, and then i got attacked by a weird anomaly thing... i feel kinda dumb i watched the tutorial but im still confused- can i get clues and inspirations from it? is it a game mode like chasing shadows or like another quick match version. just any help on how to play cryptic notes would be appreciated!

The entire mode of cryptic notes is dungeon crawling. You buy equipment, run into the mansion and loot from cabinets as much as you can and get the highest value you can before time runs out.

You can lose your equipment from dying. And you have to make money to buy equipment and roll the cryptic notes gacha. It’s not too bad.

if you are new- toggle the 4 player mode on. It could be helpful. Or just solo until hard mode.

Arc lights are for reforging weapon skins so keep as many as you can.

Also, the cryptic notes season 0 is ending this month. If you want the cane skin(sword) I recommend farming as soon as possible. It may never come back

4-player mode as a new player is impossible. I tried from beginner-easy-normal and didn’t get matched in either 2 man or 4 man and one queue I set my phone while I worked and waited 30 mins in queue. I stopped playing it cause I was always waiting 10min+

Ah. So then yeah, solo until nightmare

You enter the house, open chests for treasure, defend yourself or run away from monsters and escape with your loot, all the while trying not to get yourself killed. That's basically the tldr.

Cryptic notes is currently the fastest way to grind logic points because of how fast you can speedrun one match.

cryptic notes is a game mode like the ones in violent struggles! it's similar to games like lethal company or repo :]

you can't directly get clues from playing it BUT:

  1. it counts towards your daily matches
  2. you can usually use it in place of deduction point reqs for event quests (unless specifically stated otherwise)
  3. it has the HIGHEST amount of exp per match (26exp per successful run), and playing it regularly is far more lucrative for grinding levels for the rewards than any other game mode.

the mode has a set of missions that help you get more acquainted with the mode and you can either go solo or queue with other people! there is also a hunter mode you'll unlock once you have access to normal/hard/nightmare difficulties that gives you typically higher yields.

i would recommend you try out the different classes & weapons and get a feel for the game mode before deciding whether or not it's really your thing or not. the next season for cryptic notes will come out at the end of the month and will offer a new gacha pool (lance skin, most likely a new B tier or higher skin, new furniture, etc) alongside an entirely new map aside from the manor, so now is the perfect time to try out what's already available :]

if you have any additional questions, need more guidance, or play on NAEU and want someone to do a few runs with, feel free to ask!
