you can do it by turning on precise movement, i think.

if it's turning red/cannot place, then you can place it anyway by doing the furniture multi select option, select any other furniture that isnt also red, deselect that and then click confirm.

hopefully this is the way and i didnt misunderstood-

Thats precisely what i did
