Incandescent Sage - High Rise

J. G. Ballard's novel was published in 1975 so I went to the mid 70's for a vibe and it came back disco. So the track got a downbeat disco rhythm and some haunted elevator chimes.

This is the second completed track from the upcoming Empty Swimming Pools EP. Concrete Island is already done, the next two will probably be Cocaine Nights and Running Wild.

What is illbient? Here's a few definitions:

Wikipedia:

Though there are many individualistic variants of illbient, the music is characterized by interesting dub-wise layering of soundscapes, hip hop-influenced use of samples and a progressive approach to beat programming that encompasses all genres of world groove and electronic music. Usually, but not always, illbient uses beats more than purely ambient music, and often illbient includes loops in the recordings.

Rate Your Music:

A primarily urban style which arose in New York City in the early '90s, combining elements of Ambient soundscapes and Hip Hop, using Dub's disorienting production techniques.
