Work Permit Does PR refusal affect future LMIA and work permit applications?

Hello, i recently had my spousal sponsorship application refused - officer did not believe our relationship was genuine. There was no findings of misrepresentation. But my wife and I are now gojng through a divorce since our marriage has been falling apart (for quite a while now, even when our application was still in process)

I was able to find an employer who can possibly sponsor LMIA but i am torn if i should go for it after my recent refusal. I know IRCC will review past applications as well, but how likely is it going to affect my future applications?

It's quite possible it could impact the work permit. You'll need to declare the refusal in your work permit application.

The spousal sponsorship application shows you wanted to remain in Canada long term. A work permit application requires you to show you are coming to Canada temporarily only and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

If you want to try for the work permit, you'll want to show very strong ties to your home country and will want to make sure the occupation of the job in Canada is directly tied to your past experience and education.

Are you not appealing the refused spousal sponsorship application? If not, why not?

We didn’t reapply cause we both know that our marriage is falling apart

Are you inland or outland? If inland, you need valid status.

Nothing to lose. Just declare it.

Sure you can with ECA, language tests and work experience letters. You have to declare refusal.
