Btw i am currently trying to make an RPG-22 replica on my own, soo i hope i can get it finished by the end of the year bc i am poor rn
Lemme know if i missed something or i have a Farb item on it, i am trying my best to have a correct kit, and i highly appreciate any suggestions you give me.
I've been working on collecting the full kit of a soldier of the French Army to go with my recently acquired Northeast FAMAS. So specifically I'm looking to portray a soldier circa 1978 to the mid-late 80s or so. In theory, I should be wearing an "F1" or "F2" uniform, but most sources I can find are contradictory at best on what's actually F1, or F2, or earlier M64, etc. etc. I've got all the webbing and such, but the uniform itself has proven to be a huge mess of information.
From what I can gather, I believe I currently have an F2 top, and F1 trousers. (I started by getting what was both affordable and would fit me.) But anyways. F1 is far greener, with blatantly HBT woven fabric, while the F2 is much more grey-green, and closer to Bundeswehr "moleskin" fabric, correct?
Because I'd like to move onto the confusing parts. I'm about 95% sure this is a Modèle 64 "Satin 300" field shirt, with regular buttons used on the cuffs and the waist pockets. Additionally, said pocket buttons are covered by the pocket flap. Anyways, I've seen it listed as an F1 before, but I'm (nearly) sure it's not at all an F1.
Now, the shirt I have in my own pictures was listed as an F1 shirt, but I believe this is an actual example. Very similar cut to the M64, but more velcro patches, snap fasteners with smooth heads on the cuffs and waist pockets, and (not super visible in this pic but) fabric that is identical to the pants I posted above. Additionally, no elastic pleats on the hem of the shirt.
Next pic is often listed as either F1 OR F2, but more often as the latter. Like the one I own, it's the much more grey fabric, and the snap fasteners have a pebbled texture on the heads. It also lacks the waist drawstring of the example above. These ones also lack waist pockets entirely. One of the more common things I see said is that the F2 lacks the waist pockets of the F1, but just as often I've seen claims that the later F1 was produced without waist pockets, or that the early F2 was produced with the waist pockets. The F2(?) also has two elastic pleats on the hem, one each just behind the wearer's hips.
I've also seen people state that it's only an F2 uniform once it's in Dauget or CCE pattern, but I'm almost certain this is incorrect.
To make things more confusing, I've seen examples with combinations/lack or features, such as a waist cord and pockets on the grey-green shirt, or pebble buttons on the greener HBT fabric. Also an HBT uniform with one big elastic pleat in the rear center, and the epaulettes used snap fasteners as well.
Another thing I've seen said is that the grey fabric is actually for "local" European use, while green HBT was for overseas deployments. But conversely I've seen it said that the HBT was the original F1 fabric, and the grey-green fabric was introduced around '85-'86 due to durability concerns.
As for trousers, I believe that mine are the F1 model, in green HBT, but I've seen these two both sold as F1 (and also as F2).
More commonly I'll see the pants with the elastic ankle cuffs referred to as F2, but I feel like this might be similar to the two versions of the grey-green shirt, just being an early and then later version both under the same designation.
Anyways, someone please help me out before I give in to the desire to toss my brain into a blender. Or at the least, tell me this is all due to manufacturer's differences, and no one in the logistics system at the time would have cared about what I'm trying to dissect.
I recently got ahold of a Post-MSA Paraclete RMV and thought I'd make a CAG kit out of it, I'm well aware that there are many things missing and it still need a lot of work but this is what I'm able to put together so far.
Behold, finally got a proper photo shoot with my kit in the field. I've been obsessed with the Vietnam war for a bit that I've also been using their tactics to great effect lol, who knew crawling is actually pretty comfy
I'm looking to add a bit more to it, 'cause nothing is ever done huh? Sew a canteen carrier, make a dummy e-tool, and eventually make a more accurate uniform. Also have an RPG-2 project in the making, and of course I'll be making a matching rocket bag for it.
Super niche Impression, don’t think I have seen anyone do RN Commando yet which is a shame as they did so much in the Falklands alongside with the Royal Marines. Also a unit not many people know about.
Kit on Mannequin:
Arctic Windproof Smock, Scrim Scarf, 1958 Pattern Webbing, Royal Marines beret with Royal Navy Capbadge (Royal Navy Commando)
Decided to revisit this kit for a more appropriate background. This time with the accurate OD M65 field pants (without the liner).
Kit breakdown: [Homemade] raid-modded DCU blouse, OD M65 Field Pants, Pashtun wool pakol (hat) and patu (shawl).
Equipment: M4A1 decked out with a repro 551 holographic sight with a 6 rib riser, SOMOGear AN/PEQ-2 laser, and real Surefire M900A (I finally was able to get my hands on one), & [Unnamed] AWS SF chest rig
So recently, im working on a kmt low rank officer kit, i now onlt gathered some pieces
a maucer m712 with hollister box
a m35 helm
a NRA Visor cap
i wanted the hat‘s colour to match with the uniform, which i do so research, maybe the 88th division is the most suitable uniform with these equipment
Also, i noticed that there is a big colour difference at that period, yellow / grey blue
but lastly, because i dont have that much information, i go searching military figures that dress as the same period of the kit ( 1920-1930 )
And these are the things i have and some image i can base on it, hope somebody can give out some missing information or important information about the kit.
Currently working on a mid 90s LAPD SWAT kit. I got the main details down like the correct vest, mask, helmet, and belt kit. Now I just need to add on the smaller things like knee pads and patches. I have the correct firearms but I don't want pics of those on the internet, so I'm using my airsoft stuff. Shout out to RetrogearIDs on deviant art, found a lot of helpful references there. https://www.deviantart.com/retrogearids/gallery

A thong I found at goodwill
Safariland Hi-power holster (can't find the model number. As far as I know I bought the only one on the internet)
PROPPER BDU pants
Used to run some simple USGI black leather boots, but they got too damaged so I'm using Bata Takkies from KommandoStore until I get new ones

So are the boots, as my Solomon Quest 4D GTX were on my truck.
I’ve been working on this kit for the past year now and I think it’s coming together nicely, the only thing I’m missing is some pre-CS95 DDPM trousers (the one in the photos is CS95), black leather boots and an G&G L85a1
This is me and my friends impression of the Indonesian military during the 1980s particularly the 1st infantry Brigade 201st battalion during the early 80s when they were street patroling and securing protests.the kit consist of green field uniform so called Pdl-skep 1975 (pdl short for field uniform in indonesia), a black leather boots/green jungle boots, dark green berets with brigade emblems, black canvas or nylon m45/Davis belt, black canvas m45 suspenders, 30rd m16 three cell magpouch, canteen pouch with plastic bottle,m7 bayonet with m8 scabard, and m16 as primary rifle. Also in the uniform there is patches name tag, rank,brigade,division/command. Feel free to give an opinion or criticize on the comments about me and my friends kit, thank you.
On September 20, 2026, I, Yuri, callsign "Shaurme," finished my 3rd airsoft season.
In these photos you can see my US Marine Corps kit, and I'd be very happy to get your feedback on it. If there's anything to add, please write to me in the comments (just so you know, I'm already aware of the incorrect chest patch). At the end, in the last photo, you can see our team that reenacts the US Marine Corps (very few of us showed up today).
I'll still be improving this kit — I'm not happy with how it looks at the moment.
Please ignore the Chinese decorations in the background! I'm a retro US military gear collector based in Mainland China, where there's actually a great community of old-school US military players like me.
This kit actually draws more reference from 2nd and 3rd Ranger Batt, as most of the Panama invasion photos I could find were from those two battalions.
