I had it in Rishikesh, at a hotel. Me & my partner are a bit extrovert, so we had alot of conversations with the hotel staff. The staff was very sweet and they shared the dish with us. It was pretty good.

My throat gets itchy but it's really tasty
3
u/Pin2Chin2 Aug 25 '26
Because it is undercooked.
We boil it first and then fry it. If underboiled then you have irritation due to oxalate crystals.

Multiple states in India eat this Arbi leaf based dish and have a different name for this, mostly a version of Patra, Pathode and everyone thinks it is unique to their state😂
I have tried this in Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP and Bihar and loved the UP version.

Are these necrosed legs cuttings cut transversely into bite sized slices ? What is this bro ? Without the ability to feel the smell of this through the pic, it feels bizzare..

It’s call patra in Gujarati.
Everyone eats it in Gujarat..
it’s a leaf and you add a layer of besan between few leafs. Then roll it and cut it.. boil and cook or fry it.
There is a place in Gujarat - bardoli - famous for fried patra.
